Hi.

An inlet valve is tested disconnecting it and reading Ohms at its terminal. If the valve read open circuit, then the solenoid is broken and valve is broken. Ordinary inlet valves stay closed when there is no power. The valve may also be mechanically faulty. In that case the valve is fully tested by energizing it directly and observing it is opening and closing.

Check manual here at page 21 to find out how to access the valve.

If valve is OK, then problem is likely the autoIQ controller, more parts may need testing.

How things work

i think this is a scottsman commercial ice mach.
it works by the control board and the little timer motor loacted on the circuit board. at the end of the freeze cycle the timer activates the fill valve to let fresh water in for the next cycle. it stops when the cam on the motor lifts against the micro sw located on the timer motor.

Excessive Water Overflow

reduce the water pressure at the inlet valve so the trough fills up during harvest but doesn't overflow too much. There is a restrictor you can put in the valve entry, or you can just turn the tap to partly close it.

The ice making part of my ART 745 fridge freezer is not working is does not appear to be getting any water to the ice making compartment the machine is working normally otherwise can you please advise me...

Hello there,
When your ice maker is not getting water into it, it simply means the water inlet valve is clooged with dirt and have blocked the valve from getting water into the ice maker.
Your icemaker's water inlet valve could be filled with ice. If it is, simply thaw the its water tube with a hair dryer to remove the blockage. Be careful to not melt any plastic parts with the blow dryer.
An icemaker's water inlet valve has a filtering screen to block minerals and other debris from entering into your ice cubes. It is possible that the water inlet valve's screen is blocked, and not allowing any water through to make ice. Clean out any built up debris you find. You should be able to pop the screen out of place with a screwdriver and then put it back in place with the screwdriver again once it is cleaned.
Alternatively, the water inlet valve itself may have become defective. You will have to test it. If the test proves the valve is defective, replace it.
You should also test and replace the defrost thermostat if the water inlet valve is cleared out. To test and replace the defrost thermostat. Please click on the link below to be able to test them yourself: http://www1.fixya.com/support/r10513592-test_defrost_thermostat http://www1.fixya.com/support/r10513650-replace_defrost_thermostat
If that does not solve the problem, then you will have to replace the ice makers mechanism.
Hope this helped. All the best Elect_Comp

My water dispensor leaks water after use and sometimes on its own

HI.

The despenser is provided water, via inlet valve assembly. if there is a problem here, this will result in dripping, due to the valve not completely closing all the way after usage. Use the procedure to test and replace if needed.

Inlet assembly test:

The water inlet valve is located behind your refrigerator. Find the water supply line coming into the valve and turn it off at the source. Disconnect the supply line. Remove the screws that secure the inlet valve in place.

The water inlet valve is connected by two wires. Label the wire placement on the water inlet valve before disconnecting the wires. The wires are connected to the terminals with slip on connectors

Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals (do not pull on the wire please). You may need to use a pair of long-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If the connectors are corroded they should be replaced.

Inspect the filter screen where the supply line connects. Remove any debris or deposits that may have built up using a toothbrush, or warm running water. If you cannot clear the clog, it will be necessary to replace the valve (the filter is not removable on most inlet valves).

Test the water inlet valve for continuity using a multimeter. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X100 (if available, otherwise use the nearest ohm setting). Place a probe on each terminal. The multimeter should display a reading of 200 to 500 ohms. Close inspection of the inlet valve and especially the coil may reveal the exact ohm resistance rating to test for. If the water inlet valve does not pass this test, it should be replaced.

On Whirlpool model WD25DIXHW02 ice maker not getting water but the water dispenser is working

Is the freezer cold enough? Should be close to 10 degrees.
Is there water or ice in the ice mold? If not put water in it and see if it dumps the ice after it’s frozen. If there is ice, lift the cut off arm and let it drop to see if it will start.
If it does dump the ice but don’t refill with water.
ICE MAKER DRIP

ICE MAKER NOT GETTING WATER

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. It’s on the back where the water supply comes in. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

Hi. The water inlet valve is located behind your refrigerator. Find the water supply line coming into the valve and turn it off at the source (typically under the sink, but normally behind the unit). Disconnect the supply line. Remove the screws that secure the inlet valve in place.

LG dishwasher not working showing 1F in timer display

I am not aware of an LG code 1F. But there is an error code "1E"
After you double check that the water valve is open that feeds the dishwasher, focus on the inlet valve (solenoid)
As you remove the inlet valve, if you see the screen is filled with gunk, clean it and retest.
Good Luck!

Personally I think the prices that you paid for the new TXV and dryer are VERY far out of line.Get what information you can off of the TXV power assembly and valve body along with the manufacturer of the valve and I will see what I can find out for you. If it is the power assembly that is rusted out and leaking there are kits for replacement parts on most valves.
