Hi you can use xy zoom mode With this mode, it is possible for you to select the length and width of the copy image separately. The magnification ratio can be set to any 1% increment between 25% and 400% 1, Set the originals to be copied 2,Touch the “Reduce/Enlarge” key. The “Reduce/Enlarge” screen will be displayed 3,Touch the “XY Zoom” key. The screen to select the magnification ratio will be displayed in Inch specifications 4,Touch the “+” key or the “-” key, as appropriate, specify the desired magnification ratio for the width and then the length of the image. It is also possible for you to enter the desired ratio directly by touching the corresponding “# keys” [“#-Keys”] key and then using the keypad 5,Touch the appropriate key on the right side of the touch panel to specify the direction in which the original was set 6,Press the [Start] key to begin the copying procedure and you then should have all the original print on the paper as per copy, if you still have problems come back to me..hope this helps

If it is along the edge of the print, it may be the edge of the book page you are seeing. if it is going through the text of the page, your scan carriage is likely skipping. If you don't see this on copies of single sheets of paper laid on the glass, then the weight of the book may be deforming the glass enough to catch the scan carriage as it passes. If you see it on single copied sheets, there is probably something on one of the scan rails under the glass that the carriage is "hopping" over as it passes. You could try watching the scan carriage move while holding the lid open to see if the carriage "hops" once during a scan.
