just loop a wire around it so it doesnt fall in, it'll stay on the crank.

your crank and have a point on the pully as well on the crankshaft. set them exactly together , same for the othe shaft, but you wouldn't have have moved them by starters. Has it still a rubber chain , no metall? The model ain't on the market in the netherlands, but the principe is all the same..... for 130 years. But watch out by putting strain on the chain that the pionters stay more or less at their place

Chainsaw will crank but will not stay cranked, not getting fuel to carb. Can you give me some advice?


Do a compression check. It should be at least 100 psi. The cheapest thing to do first is to change the fuel filter in the tank. If that doesn't help you will need to remove the carburetor and see if the diaphams are hard. If so put a new carburetor kit in it. Hope this helps. George

Slipped timing belt on a 2008 honda accord, should i have it repaired or the engine replaced?


Hi ,1st I would make sure the timing marks are lined up,if they are your most likely fine,if not get a new timming chain,line up the cam and crank timmind marks install the chain and start it ,if the m,arks stay lined up and runs ok your set.I'ts cheap and easy to do for just the price of a timming chain.See ya,Don

How do you know when you need a new timing belt for a 1986 monte carlo


I dont belive this 1986 monte carlo has a timing belt, this car uses the timing chain, the timing chain is good for 150,000 miles, the to check it for wear would be to remove the distributor cap turn crank with a wrench to right mark rotor then slowly turn crank to the left and watch how far the crank turns before the rotor moves, this is how to check the slack on the chain if the crank moves more than 10 degrees then replace the chain, these cars can go 150.000 miles before the chain is needed, and some go more. hope this helps.

The only way to adjust the "tension" of the chain is to remove links. You will need a chain breaker tool. Shift the bike into the biggest chain ring and the biggest cog of the cassette, then break the chain, leaving the pin partially in the link but far enough out that the chain separates. Now, pull the chain together so that the rear derailleur's arm is as horizontal as possible and aiming toward the crank. Break the appropriate link to connect the chain so the derailleur stays in that position and reattach the chain using the pin you left partially engaged.

1982 Suzuki GS650G timing chain install


it is possible to unlink the timing chain. I dont really recommend it, but I have done it before with no problems. if you can get ahold of a small chain breaker you can use that to press one of the pins out of the chain. you may be able to find one at a hardware store. then, use the same breaker to press the pin back into the chain. you MUST be sure that it fits tightly though, so the pin doesnt try to back out later down the road. this is what I did...for a loose fitting pin, I used a hammer with a punch to "mushroom" the ends of the pin so it cant back out. I had a friend hold the metal end of a small sedge hammer against the chain, while I used the punch and hammer on the other end, then we switched sides. Im not too familiar with your engine, but in general, you dont have to remove the crank to replace the timing chain. usually, just removing the clutch basket gives you enough access to replace it. on certain models though, the cases may be in the way, and removing the crank may be necessary. but before you break the chain or pull the crank, check to see if its possible to install a chain by just removing the clutch basket, and if necessary, the gears on the end of the crank.

Engine noise


It is true that this engine DOES in fact have a timing chain. The 3.0L uses a timing belt, which has to be replaced at regular intervals. Typically, the 3.3 & 3.8, which both use a timing chain, don't have to be replaced nearly as often but still requires replacement once they have "stretched" beyond their normal working limits. The timing chain cover must be removed to inspect or replace this part. Typically, timing chain kits (comes w/ crank & cam gears) are sold at local auto parts stores.
