Dell m5110 hard drive location

Hi,

The hard drive in a Dell Inspiron M5110 is usually located in the middle of the computer just below the Motherboard. You may check the same in the manual provided below:

ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_laptop/esuprt_inspiron_laptop/inspiron-15r-n5110_service%20manual_en-us.pdf

Refer page number 71.

Hard drive in this system is a Field replaceable unit so I would suggest you to contact a Technician to do the same.

Thanks and Regards.

This looks like a problem with your hard drive. Have you tried running any disk check software to make sure that the data on the disk is not corrupt?

I did a diagnostic test on a dell inspiron 1525 and everything passed except the hard drive with error code 0142, what does this mean and can it be fixed, thanks.

Hi,

Based on
Dell Pre-Boot System Assessment (PSA) Diagnostics and Error Codes For Dell Computers - KB Article - 30042,
it is a Hard Drive failure, and you need to replace the Hard Drive.

I suggest to try reinstall windows first before you replace the Hard Drive.

Hope it helps you.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545. The computer kept freezing and with the diagnostics test I received error code on hard drive 0F00:075D

Your hard drive is defective or the circuit (system-board) that controls it. It's cheaper to replace the hard drive then the system-board to see if that's the problem. If it's under warranty Dell will replace either parts.

So I turn on my Dell Inspiron 1526 and all that happens is the fans fun but nothing else. No hard drive lights at all. Suggestions?

Go inti the BIOS settings and see if the BIOS detects the hard drive.
If not then re-seat the hard drive to make sure it is connected properly.
If the hard drive still isn't detected, then most likely the hard drive is faulty.
In this case to get the Dell operating again, replace the hard drive, install Windows on the new hard drive plus install the Dell Inspiron 1526 device drivers and your programs.

My dell inspiron 1720 keeps rebooting. Pressed

Yes. You'll need to replace the hard drive with that error code.

No matter you can't use that computer without replacing the hard drive.

If you have a warranty for the computer contact tech support for your dell, give them the error code you have
and they will immediately replace your hard drive.

Re seating the hard drive won't fix it.

Hope this helps!

The hard drive has failed. If you're in warranty, contact Dell for a warranty replacement of the drive - it's a customer-replaceable part.
If you're out of warranty, look on ebay for a good deal on a brand new hard drive for your Dell Inspiron 1525
