Compressor is toasted...that is a job for a pro...
Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong.

Replacing a relay and overload protector with a 3 n 1 hardstart

2 BLACK WIRES IS POWER. ONE GOES TO NEUTRAL, ANOTHER TO THE HOT WIRE(LINE) AND IT DOES NOT MATTER WICH YOU WILL HOOK UP AS LONG AS ONE OF THE BLACK WIRES HAS NEUTRAL, ANOTHER ONE POWER. AND BLACK IS GOING TO COMPRESSOR COMMON PIN, WHITE TO START PIN OF THE COMPRESSOR AND RED TO RUN. I HAD ON THIS REFRIGERATOR START AND RUN CAPACITORS, I ILLUMINATE THOSE - THEY CAN NOT BE IN THE CIRCUIT WITH 3 N 1 HARD START KIT. SOME COMPRESSOR HAVE THOSE CAPACITORS, SOME NOT. I DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THIS ONE HAD CAPACITORS IT WAS ONLY 1/3 HORSEPOWER. HOPE THIS HELP YOU.

How hard is it to change the start componants on a bosch fridge freezer cooler compressor unit,

Hi, if the compressor has a separate start/run capacitor, its a matter of making sure you have the right replacement part, with the right microfarads and volt such as 370 volts X 20uf ( example only ) capacitor. Since this compressor is only a single phase compressor, it will have 1 capacitor on it called a run capacitor, even though it starts the compressor also which then the start winding of the compressor will drop out. # phase units require no start or run devices at all!. It will also have a external overload protector, located behind the cover where the wiring connects to the compressor. You will have a S, R, And C for common terminal. The overload is held in place by a strip of flat metal which acts like a spring holding it against the body of the compressor, so if the compressor gets hot for some reason, it will cause this metal strip to expand and trip the black common wire which kills power to the compressor. This keeps it from burning out 95% of the time. So, if you are having a problem with the compressor not starting, start at the thermostat to see if you are getting full voltage to the compressor terminals using a a/c volt meter. If not and you just want to change out the componants that start the compressor, it will be just a capacitor that has 2 wires coming out of the top of it. Look on the diagram and it will show you where it is.

dear sir

i think you did wrong connection with compressor please make sure first your connection is correct then install your compressor unit make vacuum in unit and then try to fill freon also use over load protectors in compressor for security .correct connection are giving you blow :

C : connect here wire which one is coming from main supply/thermostat /overload protectors

R :connect here wire which one is coming from capacitor ( C terminal).

S : connect here wire which one coming from H terminal of capacitor if capaciter/if capacitor is no mark then one wire i mean no require from H OR C terminal .

hope answer the question

Clicking off and on and not cooling

Good day,
That is the compressor trying to start and can't. Remove the rear cover of the machine. You will see the compressor with a box clipped to it's side.
The components under this cover are, the overload protector, the relay, and on many models a start/run capacitor.
You can remove these components by pulling them off the compressor, and taking them to an appliance parts house, where they will usually be glad to test them for you.

Replace any that are bad. If they all check O.K. then the issue is a major one with the compressor, and requires a service tech.

P.S, If the machine is less than 5 years of age, do nothing. It is still under warranty. Call your selling dealer.

Thank you for using FixYa

Fan works compressor doesn't overload protector keeps clicking 3 pins on compressor all tested short on rx1 tested no grd

Test or replace the run capacitor first. Then add a hard-start capacitor based on the motor size/hp. When checking pins on compressor remove all wires and test to chassis ground since this should be open circuit. Resistance between pins should be in the range of normal start and run windings, not less than 20 ohms on the start windings.

Condenser fan runs for a short time and then goes off. does this over and over again.

Good day,
If Hp means Hotpoint, then that action is by design, if the compressor tries to start and cannot.
The overload protector that shuts the compressor off is wired in a manner to kill power to the condenser fan motor as well.
Either the start components to the compressor have failed or the compressor itself has seized.
The start components are 1. the start relay, 2. the start capacitor (some models only), and 3. The overload protector.
These are mounted on the side of the body of the compressor, and can be removed and tested.
If the start components check, o.k. then the compressor has locked up.
A VOM meter can be used to test these components if you access to one, and have knowledge on how to use it, or you can take the components to an appliance parts house. They usually will be happy to test them for you.

The starter/overload and overload protector unit melted but the capacitor looks ok. Does this mean the compressor is shot or just got overloaded?

The easiest way to find this out , is to check the condenser. Make sure that the condenser is not clogged up with dust and that the condenser fan is working. Replace the start relay. Turn it back on. If it starts right up then it probably overheated and melted the relay due to the condenser fan not working or the condenser clogged with dust. Air circulation through the condenser and air being circulated over the compressor in how it cools itself. If the compressor will not start or if it runs for a little while and then shuts off from overheating, then you have a bad compressor.

Projector overheating shutting off

If the compressor starts and runs check the run capacitor for visual signs such as bulging of the casing or oil leakage which would indicate a bad run capacitor. A bad run capacitor will cause the compressor current draw to be above normal resulting in the overload protector tripping. If the compressor Hums then clicks the compressor is bad.
