Left power on

Hi! good day. I'm very anxious to get answers from my post. could you take a look at it? i posted it here in fixya.
it's about my Olympus C-3040 Zoom digital camera. i left it on (the power/mode dial on letter P). Turned it off eventually.
now, I'm trying to turn it on again but it won't turn on. I placed newly recharged batteries but it still won't turn on.
Thanks for your time.

Hey raggedarmi,
Leaving the camera on for an extended period of time should not cause the camera to no longer turn on. Make sure the lens cap is not on the camera when you turn it on, and make sure you are not using manganese batteries because they don't work with this camera. The camera will not operate while connected to a computer so make sure you are not connected to a computer. The camera might be in sleep mode so try pushing the shutter button or hitting the zoom lever. If none of these options work try putting in a brand new set of AA batteries and see if that works and if it does it probably means your rechargeable batteries are bad.

Sincerely,
Allan

My camera has new batteries and I cleaned the posts and tryed to turn on. It will not come on.

If your Kodak camera is not turning on, the answer to your problem is probably the batteries. But what I am wondering is what you said, QUOTE "I CLEANED THE POSTS" END QUOTE, if you used a WET soft towel you have water damage. To reverse the effects of water damage, remove batteries and take a blow dryer and blow it down and around the camera for a good 10 mins, first 5 low setting, 2nd 5 high setting. Let it sit in RICE for a good 5 days (typical business week) if not rice in a clothes drawer for a good 5 days also. Thanks!

Get Your Photo Equipment Question Answered

When you post a question on Fixya.com, you obviously want an answer, but a large number of questions will never be answered. If you review questions that have gone unanswered for extended periods, you will see a pattern that insures that no one will be able to help. Questions that are not questions at all, but rather vague incomplete statements lacking understandable details are routinely passed over by the experts. For example, "my camera doesn't work" or "press shutter release again." Shorthand and sentence fragments work on Twitter, but they are useless to those of us on Fixya who try to help you. If we cannot understand what you are asking, how can you expect us to respond?

So what do you need to do to keep your question out of the "Dead E-mail Office"? First, take some time to compose your question in writing using your word processor before you post it. Review what you write and refine your question so it is understandable. Ask a friend (someone you have not discussed the problem with) to read what you wrote. That way, you will be able to judge if what you wrote is understandable by asking them to explain in their own words what your problem is. If they do not understand what you wrote, no one else will either.
As you write, make sure you do the following:
    1) Phrase your question as a question in complete sentence. Since it is a question (if you have phrased it correctly) it should be followed by a question mark (?).
    2) Make sure you specify the brand and model of the equipment in question including any connected equipment. For example, if the problem is an electronic flash unit, include the brand and model of the camera you are using it with. The problem might not necessarily be the flash; it might be the camera it is attached to. Also, make sure you post it to the correct category.
    3) Include all of the details surrounding the failure. When we analyze your problem, knowing bothwhat is not working and what is working together can provide important clues.
    4) Tell what you have done to try to resolve the problem before you posted your question to Fixya. That can save a lot of time.
    5) When you are ready to post your question, copy and paste it from your word processor to Fixya.com under the correct category. As I review the photography categories, you would be astonished by the number of postings that are questions relating to such things as automobiles, microwave ovens, house painting, etc. There are also questions on photographic equipment that is posted to the wrong category. When I log onto Fixya to answer questions about lenses, I will not see your question if you posted it as an automobile.

By following these suggestions, you will greatly increase your chance of receiving a timely and useful answer to your question.

If I ask a question, will I have to pay money for the help?

Hello,

There is a free section where you can post a question, but no guarantee you will get a response. You posted this in the free section. There are other levels you can post for money. There is the Premium section, and also the Chat section. Premiums usually get an answer...Chats almost aways get an answer.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for using Fixya.

NOTE: If you want to post a question in the free section, open a new post. Don't add to this one. Also, you can rate this solution, if you would. Thanks.

HOW TO WRITE AND POST AN EFFECTIVE QUESTION

How to frame a good question.
Most questions on Fixya are not answered because they are not clear. People answering questions need to know the real issue before they can provide a suitable solution. All questions need to feature the following information.

1. Name of product - brand, model and all relevant information
2. State the problem and explain clearly what happens
3. Ask your question - provide information on what (steps/ methods) you tried already and how far.
You will probably receive an answer sooner than other questions with less details.

Good luck to you all.

Rating your Solution

Well, if you get back to the original post, you should find four rating options at the bottom of my post. Simply select "Fixya". (I am not sure if this is the same with premium problems, as I cannot see the customers view on their monitor) If you do not see a fixya button, then there should be something else similar, like solved or fixed or something.
Here is a link to the post:
http://www.fixya.com/support/t555981-connect_fujifilm_s3500

If you can post a screen shot I could probably help.
Alternatively, you can try to send an email to the Fixya admin at experts@fiya.com, and they should be able to help :)

Just posted a comment on that post, maybe you will be able to see a rating button now..

Is it possible to retrive photos i uploaded onto my hard drive and put them pack on my camera's card?

Yes, just use the Windows Explorer (Start, right click, >Explorer)

Scroll down the left panel to your camera and open the required folder and paste them there.

Hope that helps! Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

P.S. - If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.
If it hasn’t, please do not assign a rating just yet. Please post back as to what steps you took, results, etc, and I will try to assist you further as best I can. I am here at your service.
