The X & Y drive the display, if you have a picture they are not the problem. There is only one main board

It sounds that the main system control memory IC is faulty. This is a common trouble to all TVs, irrespective of brand.

It is a very small IC, will look like this, and can be located very near to main system control IC. Won't cost more too. Replace it.

My sony rear projection tv's red light started blinking 8 times, so I removed the high vltage splitter, so I needed to test the block. And you guys are sugesting for me to turn on the tv, now do I

Turn on very briefly and make sure the large red wire that entered the block is well away from any metal---if hear a frying sound and blink sequence is gone the block is bad( I used to put the wire into a old soda bottle as it has over 20 thousand volts coming out of it, much like the spark plug wires in a car---high voltage with low current.

That symptom of your televisions have problem in power supply. The power supply have some deffective parts like the capacitor. The capacitor is totaly leak that cause of voltage drop. The output voltage dosen't continue because of leak capacitor, the leak capacitor is mildly shorted. So try to check the capacitor and replace all leak capacitor. The leak capacitor can identify through visual checking if you don't know how to use capacitor tester. The leak capacitor is rounded shape at the top and sometime have moise.Try this sugestion.hope will it help you.Thank you..

After 2 seconds my monitor HP w1907v is switching off itself and there's no way to bring it back to life again. If i switch off and on again the monitor shows images for 2 seconds and then dies. I...

Well the monitor obviously works, so I see no reason to open the case on the monitor especially because there are no user serviceable parts within the case. my sugestion is to try the monitor on another PC if that yeilds the same results then I am wrong and the problem lies with the monitor. I believe the are two types of connections for this monitor shane_barnha_2.jpg VGA and DVI shane_barnha_0.png
Next step is to try the one that you have not tried yet if that fixes it then the problem lies in the output conection on the back of PC the input connection on bottom of monitor or the cable itself. If there isn't a second connection like I think then the next option would be to try another monitor, which if you do not have available can be achieved by using most new flat screen TV's If you have a TV With the same conection Just move the PC or TV close enough to try, Use your remote to change TV input to PC then turn TV off connect cable turn TV on and start up your PC if this works you will need to have your monitor repaired or replaced.

Thumbs Up if helpful, Feedback is Appreciated!!!
Good Luck!!!

there may be an issue with the ir sensor board in the tv. you could use you serial number and model number to research the part to replace (rather inexpenisve part) or have a vizio certified repair company diagnose the issue and theyll replace the board for you.

TV turns off by itself

Check the interlock switch on the rear lamp cover. Sounds like the cover might not be seating completely, allowing this safety switch to shut the TV off. When you remove the cover, it's just to the left of the big black plastic ventilation guide for the lamp, and it's a little tiny blue lever that moves up and down. Make sure the wires going to this switch are OK (not pulled out or 'hanging by a thread').

I have a a insignia lcd tv model ns-27lcd turns off by itself

The problem is most likely the fuse connected to the power wires. You have to take apart the TV and follow the power wire to the fuse. Fuse number is T4AL/ 250v. It will be labeled above the fuse. We had the same problem. Also, check to see if the metal around the tops and bottoms of fuse are loose.
The way we fixed it was to wrap aluminum foil around the fuse and put it back in. It is only a temporary fix until we can get a fuse. Hope this helps.
