I have a 60 qt. Hobart Mixer and it works but I can literally grab the dough hook and stop it with my hands, when in first gear. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

If I remember from the last time I saw inside one they are belt driven. It sounds like yours is slack. There are screws on the top to remove the cover plate. I also vaguely remember a Bakelite laminate cog that has a shear pin. It has been a long time though that I saw the inside but have used them often. I am a chef, qualified in 1971 :-)

If the belt wheel is pressed onto a spindle, you need a gear puller. Do you have any pictures of this? I am trying to visualize the problem.

Hook straggles to turn when dough in bowel

The Legacy is an electronic mixer and the transmission does not have any gear, and it frequency convertor that works in phases 2 and 3. If the hook struggling when turns, check the transmission belt locasted at the top of the mixer, remove the cover first.
If the belt is loose, tense it with the screw on the base of the motor or replace the belt. If you can not fix it, let me know and I'll try something else.

Blender attachment does not work

It could be the drive belts. There are three. One for the motor to the belt drive. one from belt drive to bowl mixer spindle. one from belt drive to mixer spindle. mine started to do the same thing. I ordered the belts from Bosch.

KitchenAid Artisan 10 speed 325Watt Mixer

Hi, The KitchenAid mixers are usually quite easy to work on if you are competent at DIY. It sounds like a gearbox fault. Gearbox parts are easy obtained for most of the models and are easy to repair.

This is a service manual for a lot of the KitchenAid mixers. Might give you an idea on how difficult it is to work on before taking the plunge.

Hope this helps
