Where can I order a lamp cartridge access panel? I don't need a bulb or housing. It is a part of the TV itself. I have a Mitsubishi 64 inch projection TV. Can you help?

Yes, if you are talking about the door that can be removed to remove the lamp; Best place other than Mitsubishi would be ANDREWS ELECTRONICS (LA). They are the largest OEM parts dealer in the United States and do take phone orders etc, You will need to know model number and they can look part number up and give you a price including shipping----about the only reason to replace that door is if it was damaged or the peg on the back broken off or warped. Let me know if you have questions as I am here to help. SD TECH

If you are not using the correct bulb, that is exactly your problem. Get the correct lamp.

Replacing Light bulb w/housing

Lamp is replaced by customer in most cases---look to owner manual---in general if lamp up front (I think yours is by the model number indicated) the front plate beneath the screen gets removed (have set unplugged) and a lamp door is marked---it opens when screw/s securing it are removed.

Inside are two more screws---with them removed grasp the handle for the cartridge with the lamp and pull it out.

Be sure to get a Mitsubishi lamp and not a generic "bulb" which would require you to take the housing apart---generic bulbs have a much shorter life.

carefully slide the replacement in so the two pins on the rear connect correctly into the socket in the set where they go.

there are video instructions for many sets on You Tube.

Do I need to order the housing with the lamp after burn-out?

you can order just the bulb then install that in your housing. Being careful not to touch the new bulb with your bare hands as the oils from your finger tips will cause the lamp to fail prematurely.

Here's an online version of your televison's (94 page) "Owner's Guide":
http://www.mitsubishi-tv.com/pdf/ownersguides/WD-60735.pdf

It sounds like the lamp in your "Mitsubishi Lamp-Cartridge" blew.

If your TV remains under warranty, you'll want to call Mitsubishi at 1-800-553-7278, and you'll need to have (a) Mitsubishi Model number, (b) serial number, (c) TV purchase date, and you'll have to ship the old lamp module back to Mitsubishi so that:
"All lamps replaced under warranty must be returned to Mitsubishi where they will be inspected for defect verification."

Return old Lamp-Cartridge to:

Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America
1001 Cherry Drive, Suite 2
Braselton, Georgia 30517

If you have trouble finding your TV's information, you need better "Warranty Management". Warranty Management can be done with software, or on paper. You may even choose to toss all your Owner's Manuals into a box, with the receipts. In case anything malfunctions/needs to be reprogrammed/reset then the manual & spare parts/cables (in a large Zip-Loc(R) baggie or two) can be quickly located and consulted.

If you television happens to be out of warranty, a nice (expensive) new lamp module can be ordered from Mitsubishi by calling 1-800-553-7278, or by ordering online at http://www.mitsuparts.com.

Refer to pages 75-76 of your Owner's Guide for complete Lamp-Cartridge module replacement instructions (with nice illustrations).

Your TV's Lamp-Cartridge part number is: Mitsubishi 915B403001

Here's an online source for the Mitsubishi 915B403001 Lamp-Cartridge:
http://www.dlplamps.com/products/mitsubishi-dlp-lamp/mitsubishi-915b403001.html?gclid=CLzb6ciaiq0CFQdN4AodZkMonA

Note that with the dlplamps.com offerings, you can purchase the lamp only for $109, or the entire lamp-cartridge module for $129. So you can save yourself $20 if you're handy. Remember to keep all fingerprints off the lamp glass element - this small amount of oil will weaken the glass, and cause premature failure of the lamp. In the event that you get a fingerprint on the lamp glass, erase it thoroughly with rubbing alcohol. Alternatively, one may prevent fingerprints with latex gloves (make sure you haven't an allergy to latex, though).

If the reason that the lamp blew turns out to have been a clogged Lamp-Cartridge Filter (once you have the Lamp-Cartridge out of the TV and in your hand, you'll be able to easily see the mesh filter), then place a regular PM (Preventative Maintenance) of this filter on your calendar.

Need a New Bulb Soon per the message on the TV screen when you turn it on . Where is it and what is the part number? Made August 2006.

you don't list make and model of your set so its difficult to be precise, however most of the lamps are assessable either from the side (most often) and sometimes in the back. Look for a door about 5 inches square, it should open and inside you will find a little handle usually a loop that you can grab with your finger, pull on it and the lamp housing will come out. You can find the part number on the housing or on the lamp itself. Better yet is to type a Google search like this, needed, projector lamp for (your make and model) flat panel television, you should find several sources for the lamps. you will pay approximately 60 dollars for the lamp itself and maybe 30 to 40 more for a lamp already mounted in a housing that will fit your set. the lamps are not hard to install into the houseing if your handy and "careful" not to touch the bulb with your bare fingers. (the grease on your fingers will cause the lamp to burn out prematurely. good luck

I have a 50 inch widescreen LCD HITACHI and it needs a new lamp. How much would that cost?

Google the model number with the word lamp after it---price ranges from 79 for just bulb and from 124 for bulb with housing (cartridge)

Do some shopping and I suggest the one in a cartridge as if you buy just the bulb you have to take the old housing apart and install it.

Shop warranty as well, some of these are 90 days and some much longer warranty.

If this information helped you rate this free solution as very helpful as I do this for free.

When i turn on my 64inch mitsubishi wd 65733 tv it stays on for about a min (WITH PICTURE AND SOUND)then it just shuts off with the (orange) status light steady and the (green)lamp light blinking. I cant...

My concern is that the new lamp may be having an issue and not able to hold the high voltage.
If the old lamp was working, I would try this old lamp again.
If this issue was with the old lamp also. Then there is something else wrong either in the power supply or the lamp ballast where it isn't able to continue to put out the high voltage.

More than likely a lamp issue!

I had the same issue when replacing my lamp for the first time. I replace just the bulb with the Phillips replacement bulb. After installing the power down issue started and it would take up to 7 attempts before the TV would stay on with a picture.

Since I never had this problem until i replaced the bulb i decided to send the new bulb back and replace it with a difference one. In my opinion replacement parts are never made to the same standard as original OEM parts. This TV is definitely very temperamental in regard to the bulbs.

When the second replacement bulb arrived I decided to not only replace the bulb I also cleaned the connector plug in the cartridge with a QTip and alcohol. I did the same for the plug receptor in the TV.

When I replaced the bulb i insured the the top of bulb lettering was facing the handle of the cartridge so when you put the cartridge back in the TV the top of the bulb would be facing you.

I also cleaned the entire inside of the TV where the cartridge is inserted including the screws.

Once I did all this the TV turned on the first time and has been working fine for three days now.

I do believe the replacement bulb position is very important as to how it heats up and determines when it needs to cool.

I hope this helps others with the same success i had because I really do not want to replace this TV and start replacing all the parts others have done with little to no success for this issue.

do a self test diagnosis by pressing the menu and device/input buttons on front panel for 5 sec and you will see a seq. of blinks followed by a short pause and then more blinks. count the first set and last to give you the error code.
