I found this advice on the net:
You do not want to allow the samsung refrigerator water filter to run out of the ability to clean you water and then allow it to just sit there. If the filter is not replaced on a regular basis then you are not drinking water that has been cleaned properly.

Under Creative Commons License: Attribution No Derivatives I read on another blog that you can clean the mold with a bleach solution to remove it. Check for a filter or consider putting an inline filter on. You might check with an appliance repair shop- they usually know the best fixes and most efficient filters since they deal with them all the time. Good luck, hope this helps, and thanks for using FixYa.

Mold growing around ice dispenser area. Cant figure out how to get to the mold .

Pull ice maker out and clean it. Then make sure you have a fresh water filter on water supply. Mold in the freezer is uncommon if its truly freezing inside. You have dirty water coming in.

Whirlpool ice dispenser not working

It could be clogged. Without more info its rather hard to answer. Depending on where you water comes in, the line could be kinked or it could be loose. If no water leaking probably not loose. More commonly the line going from refrigerator to water coming into it is kinked or the line is clogged. Could also be clogged where ice comes out, especially if you are getting water but no ice. Then empty all the ice from the holding box, then clean any ice off that has built up around the ice lever area. Hope this help, Anthony

Ice maker stopped working

I would first check around the condensing area for lint and dust buildup and clean that up. Just doing so can sometimes get the ice maker cold enough to start producing ice. Their are 2 components that are responsible for ice production. The ice maker and the water valve. As the ice maker dumps a batch of ice near the end of that harvest cycle the ice maker powers up the water valve for 7and a half seconds. How. A probe rubs on a copper plate mounted on the inside of the main gear. Here is how she works: The ice mold thermostat gets down to around 28f. This makes it close contacts and power up the mold heater and the motor. As the ice loosens up and moves a bit you hear a click. That click kills power to the ice mold heater. The motor continues on around to dump the ice. After the ice goes home to bucketsville the copper plate rubs against the water solenoid probe and water is sent up the backsides of the icebox to the ice mold for 7.5 seconds. If you are careful you can remove that wheel and clean that plate. A simple test and a manual HERE

Will not release ice and makes crushed ice, even when on cubed.

I believe in your case the ice maker part number WR30X10093 being electronic with the control board in the front is the problem. I think the control board behind the front cover of the ice maker may have corrosion and causing the ice maker to malfunction. You can try disconnecting the set of wires to the coil on the water control valve and see if the water stops or turn off the ice maker first and try disconnecting the coil wires later. It has to be the control board or the water control valve part number WR57X10032

Have a hotpoint side by side with water and ice in the door....and you can get ice but no water....we put in a new filter but no water will come out,,,,,help...thank you

Shawn- I had the same problem. Take a hair dryer and blow on the inside of the freezer door behind the water and ice dispenser. The water lines freeze up occasionally. Heat it for about ten minutes, spread the heat around so it doesn't melt anything. When you are done, let it stand for about five minutes before you try to get water out of the dispenser. I hope this works for you. Good luck!!!

Water leaking from icemaker on outside

If this is your water dispenser leaking
Your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking. disconnect the water line coming out of it and see if you have a slow drip. Try the dispenser to see if it's just drips after use.
