Question about Kodak EasyShare C875 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Transfering pictures on from a different camera.

My C875 digital camera fell on the ground with alot of other stuff and got broken. The problem is actually with easyshare software though. I got another C875 at a pawnshop that works fine and even came with a dock but for some reason it absolutely will not transfer photos onto my computer! I can't remember where the broken one is. I thought that if I found the old one which did transfer photos and put the memory card for the new one in it, then I could use the broken one to transfer photos instead of the new one and just use the new one for capturing photos. I'd prefer to figure out why the new one won't transfer and just fix that but I'm getting really desperate here! Please help!

Okay I found a solution that kinda works. It didn't initially work because the software was trying to automatically upload the photos. It didn't work at first when I did it manually either, but when I changed the folder destination from the easyashare folders to a folder in "My pictures" it FINALLY did work. I still might reinstall the software for convenience but atleast I got it to work now.

Try re-installing the driver software. Ensure that all the electrical contacts on the camera, cables and dock are clean and free from obstruction. If all else fails, USB card readers are cheap, and handy for other things. This is what I use.

Replacing the flashtube is not something you can do. It requires complete disassembly of the camera and delicate soldering skills. It must be sent to an authorized Kodak repair facility. It will cost a lot.

I can't find out how to take card out and transfer my pictures

On the right side of the camera (looking at it from the back) there is a small access door. Behind the door is where the card is. It is also where a usb connector goes to transfer the pictures without removing the card. (Have you installed the Easyshare software?)

You probably need to pull the door toward the rear of the camera and then to the right to open it.

As far as formatting goes, you only need to do that if you are satisfied with the transfer and sure you won't need to access the pictures any further. Once formatted, all files on the card are gone. There is a menu item

If you click on this link: C875 Setup Guide it is pretty thorough. Page 9 has a good picture of the back and side view.

I had a similar problem with my C875 Digital Camera until I purchase extra heavy duty rechargeable batteries. Now, I no longer have this problem. When my battery power gets low, I recharge these same batteries.

When you say you've tried every different kind of battery, did that include Lithium batts?

Lithiums are the only battery that ALL Kodak cameras seem to be happy to run on.

They have huge problems with alkaline batts, even brand new ones.

Hope this helps.

Problems with transfering picture.

it looks like your cable doesnt work OR its not plugged in correctly

-check if the cable is properly plugged in
-use another USB cable if it doesnt work
-try using a card reader
-check if you have the right drivers installed

or maybe the cameras usb port is broken
