Last night the receiver was fine. DVD plays fine but when I change the input to TV/DBS, there is no picture or sound. I think my 2 yr. old pushed something today but I can't figure out what. Of course, husband is out of town...

Had the same problem. With mine the other day you probably moved your Playstation 3 too another tv and set your 1080i,720,480 to high deaf on settings in Playstation. You have to change them back to automatic that TV says HDTV but it only plays Playstation 3 on 480 checked in settings of Playstation. Played mine for 4 years on that TV moved and got a 3d wifi then dad got him one And was going to trash that RCA but I told him I would take it for now too keep from buying another TV at this time got it in my new home wouldn't play video but it. would sound tried different cables but still now change. But remembered i changed all of my settings over when I got 3D TV. Playstation 3 hadn't been on know other TV. Since I owned it but that RCA now won't work then came to me last night and playing it on both TVs but you have to change the settings on it before moving it or you cant see the screen to fix it do that guarantee it will fix it. Like you said everything else works PS 1,PS 2,DVD, cable, but PS 3 won't its the settings in theme, and audio.
HDMI ports 5 and 6 on the back of tv no longer are working. (We had a series of thunder storms so don't know if that is how they got damaged or if it was something else) but moved HDMI input cable to HDMI port 4 on tv and everything is working again. Service call placed for warranty service on tv to repair bad ports.
There is some sort of setting you need to change on the JVC receiver. I had this same problem, and I read the manual and it solved it. You need to press and hold down a button to change the mode. Your unit probably says "TV Sound" right now. Once you press this button (not sure what button) like the manual says, the display should change to "DBS" and then it should work just fne.
TV has Component input (Green,Red,Blue) connect as follows: 1.Connect Component Video and Audio cables from the Cable box, PS3, DVD or Sat box to thea Component Video and Audio input on the Denon (TV/DBS, DBS,VCR1 VRS2, VDP or DVD). 2.Connect a Component Video cable from the Denon to the TV Component Video input. 3. If you do not have a cable or sat box and have a cable from the wall to the TV you must take an RCA(Red&White) audio out of the TV to an input listed in #1
Good thing the tv is under warranty, theres no magical fix for a problem like this. I would either return it to the store or call for service. If you atempt to do to much to fix it you might voide the warranty, and you should have to do anything to fix it as you said its 3 days old.
I also had the same problem when using my optical output for DBS and DIGITAL DVR/DVD.. you need to change the setting for this by on the remote changing to either analouge..rca sound input or Digital...for Optical input. The same problem cuaght me oput for a long time as well. The button is when you slide down the remote cover and the button is called analoug /digital
I started back in the day of tubes. A family would have one set and it would be a 19" black and white.
There are different resolutions now.
The components probably do work, but, they don't pass the 480i signal. The satelite converter's analog signal needs to be set to 480p and the DVD needs to be set to progressive if it does have that setting. If the DVD is not a progressive scan DVD, then, the only inputs that it will show on is the analog signal.
Some of the dish converters have a switch on the face for changing the resolution.
If yours doesn't then put it in an analog source and go to the menu and change it there. Then move it to the component input.
Hope this helps.
