My wr-100 came with a special note inserted with the instructions that the WR-100 was programmed to not give off an audible alert on tests. This is to supposedly protect you from thinking you have a real emergency. Mine is new. Maybe the older ones had an audible test alert. I assume yours gave an alert at one time??

I have 12-38 hxl, and if my grass is too tall, it will wedge under the cutting deck and lock the blades, and the belt willstart smoking white. With the motor off look under and see if you do not have something stuck (branches or grass).Also, check your sparkplug.

Check your air filter, make sure all registers are open full and there is no restriction in all ducts. Could be an unbalanced fan, clean the squirll cage fan with a brush and vacuum.
