Thanks for the reply. Checked the pump. impellors are clear. Water drains from the tub ok. but, the tub does not spin in any cycle.

  • robertw0129 May 17, 2008

Thanks for the reply, Sorry I havent responded sooner, just now had a chance to look at the machine. The tub does not spin after any cycle. Checked belt on bottom of unit and it is in place and appears ok. I question the possibility of bad contacts as this washer has several wash cycles and the tub does not spin on any one of them. What type of mechanism engages the tub to make it spin? MATAG PAV2300AWW

Belts is good woth no burned spot. the pulleys are also tight. It appears that the transmission is bad.I am pretty sure the lid switch is ok, as I can hear a clicking when the lid is opened and closed in the spin cycle. I think it is time to give the may tag repair man something to do. Thanks

But it does spin during the wash cycle, correct?

Well, instead of waiting for your reply, I will assume that it does spin during the first two cycles so your problem is most likely is that the timer contact in that spot is faulty.

Replacing this timer will fix your problem.

Does the motor sound like it is working when running? If so, then your transmission needs to be replaced on the washing machine. Also, you said the belt looks fine but check the pulleys that it is on.

Check out the following links for diagrams and parts. Also please let me know what else you need and I would be happy to help. Thanks

By checking the pulleys, I mean, do they turn and does the belt look worn from possibly non-turning pulleys

Also another thing to check is the lid switch which may cause the tub not to spin or agitate.

alright, so where are we at, what have you checked?

SOURCE: washing machine won't rinse or spin

sounds as if you have a faulty lid switch, for safety reasons if the machine doesnt think the lid is closed it willnot spin/drain the waer out.

SOURCE: washing machine will not advance through the wash cycle

when it reaches the stopping point does it stop after the wash cycle if so try pushing the switch to the lid with a popsicle stick and see if it goes into the spin cycleif it does the lid switch is bad. the washer will not go into the spin cycle unless the lid is closed and if the swich is bad it won't let the time advance

Model MAH 7800 drain pump will not run, door locks, tub spins, water drains by gravity

Well your drain pump needs attention for sure. There could be an object lodged against propellers or it may need to be relaced. Try unplugging the connector that goes to the pump and plugging back in. Also try tapping the the motor part of the drain assembly while in spin cycle before replacing. Good luck.

My LG front loading washer makes a train noise during the rinse cycle. What could be the cause?

if it is right after the drain cycle; it then goes into a spin. It then starts to fill with water for the rinse while the tub is still turning. The water entering the tub while the tub is spinning, cleans the tub of soap and the water going through the holes in the tub are causing the noise. It is normal if only in the rinse cycle.

Tub sometimes will not spin to wring out clothes.

Sounds like the machine is not pausing between cycles to allow the transmission to lock into spin.

The tub will not spin in the rinse cycle

This sounds like a timer problem if it will spin in other cycles. If you hear a motor running but no spin it is the motor couple.

Washing machine will not go thru it's spin cycle.

I just replaced the 4 rubber straps on the tub. Washed a load and it worked fine. Washed a second load and it did not spin on the rinse cycle. Checked the wiring on the switches. All OK. What do I check next. Did I mess up something around the tub ?

Rinse Cycle

Is this a fairly new Energy star machine? If it is the rinse cycle is a spin only cycle with several spray rinses.

You may have an option switch that gives you a Fabric softener option, use this option and you will have a deep tub cold water rinse.

Make sure you are using He detergent.

If you have soft water use less detergent
