this sit is messed up,once i sent my comment it says you have a kitchenaid, the evap fan motor part is 8208342 and on the sears site it says it's 116 bucks, there could be ice in there either from a defrost problem or on bottom mount refig.the door gets left open and hot air gets in and freezes the air vents in and around the fan can tell if there's water droplets on the food packages and on the racks and ceiling of the freezer, let me know what you find

Fridge transported on its side. Placed upright. Turned on too early. Freezer appears to function. Refigerator portion does not cool.

If the freezer works the cooling system is ok. Check for the freezer fan it blows air to the refrigerator side. Also check the air vent. It should be in the top of the refrigerator. If the fan is blowing you should be able to feel the air blowing out. I would see if the fan blade came off in transport first.

Well, it sounds like your condenser fan motor has seized up and needs to be replaced. I had the same problem and additionally it woudl onhly produce about twenty cubes of ice a day. Best Buy repair guy came replaced the fan motor and within 10 minutes the heat was dissapated from the strip and it started churning out ice agin.
