-   I have the same problem with my Bosch SHU44 built-in-dishwasher. Original problem was water wouldn't pump out and overfilled. Can I reach the safety shut off from the bottom of the machine? Thanks.-   Jeanabelle1

Check the float in the bottom of the dishwasher - it may be stuck in the up position, which shuts off the water. - unless it's an old Maytag - which then would indicate that the belt is broken.
