Question about Sony Alpha DSLR-A100 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Display reads "unable to use card. format? yes no." I've had the camera a few years now and never had this problem. I have: 1. tried to format but it still gives the same message 2. tried several other cf and memory stick with same result 3. these same cards still have all the same picture files 4. I checked the troubleshooting in manual I have always enjoyed using this camera and wonder it it can be fixed or if I need to shop again.

SOURCE: No CF card

The camera body has a tiny switch marked "CF" in one position and Sony's "memory stick" symbol in the other. Apparently I accidentally reset the switch from "memory stick" to "CF" while slipping the camera body into (or out of) its carrying-case. Once I had set this switch from "CF" back to the "memory stick" position, everything worked fine. Solution:  read the user's manual more carefully next time!!

SOURCE: Sony A100:put in empty CF cards, says card full, won't format

Might be 2GB card is more then enough for camera hardware o handle. Try 1GB card in this camera.

Read the manual and the section on formatting the card in the camera so the camera can read it. You have to do this on all new cards in cameras.

Reading imposible and unable to read the card SD D was (bleep) compromise

If you think there should be important pictures on the card, please don't do a thing till you recovered them.
For that use an external card reader on your computer. If there are no pictures on the card, please try to format it in the camera.
Also, if it won't work in the camera, first try to format it (FAT32) on your computer and then again format it in the camera. Also check you did not switch the card to the lock position.

SD Card Problems with Vivitar Vivicam 5118!

What size is the memory card. If it's larger than 4GB then it won't work in the 5118.
Try using another card. Don't format it in your computer but do format it in the camera before trying to take pictures.

I've had the Samsung L200 with the same Panasonic 1GB memory card for the last 3 years and it's been great, but all of a sudden today it started saying 'memory full' after only taking a few...

The camera is telling you that the internal memory is full. To get your card to work, you must clear it. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, your card should work unless you formatted it in the computer, in which case you'll have to format (completely erases it) it in the camera.

When I put a memory card in my camera it gives me a prompt that says memory card error, unable to read memory card. But the same card will work in other devices.

If you've been using this card in other devices, it now needs to be formatted in the camera to work properly. This will erase it so download any pics from it using a card reader if necessary.

This camera reads "card error" and won't format a

yes. you can try to insert the sd card to a computer using any all-in-1 memory card reader. then if windows detects it, right click the card's drive in windows explorer then select format. choose FAT as file system type. before you put it back to your camera clean the card's contact points, insert the card and if the camera detects the card format it again using the camera's format tool.

Memory card requires formatting

Have you tried a different card, that may help. Plus, there are cameras that will not "like" certain cards. If the card is...let's say...an 8 gig...some cameras can't read that or even write to it. Try a different card and a 1 or 2 gig card too. Good Luck.

nikon r09,r11, etc . it mean memory buffer of your camera. memory buffer is a temporary memory for your captured images before it store to memory card.
if r00 it mean, you can't take a picture, even 1 picture... that because the camera buffer memory is full.
the number of memory buffer will also drop if noise reduction on
