Hot temp I have this old laptop i bought a couple of years ago and lately it started to shut off on me after a couple of mins, the surface gets so hot. Does anyone know how to replace the laptop fan for hp dv1010us? I wasn't sure where to start this process.

There service manual, which you can download for free from hp's website has directions on how to replace the fan. Here is link to the manual (pg 161):

Also, I would suggest purchasing one of those laptop cooling fans that set underneath the laptop and plug into the usb. They do a fantastic job of helping to keep the laptop cool and they are not too terribly expensive.

sounds like the hot water sensor is shutting down early .also check flame sensor is clean .

First you add octane booster to two year old gas. It is too late for stabil. Find the idle air solenoid and take it out and clean it with throttle body cleaner. Try not to push it in or out. Reinstall and turn on key for I min. and off for 1 min. then start the car.

Hot Surface Light stays on

Our success has been to heat the elements to hot for about 5 minutes. Then let cool to reset temp sensor.

Can cause the problem by turning a burner on for a short period of time
