Try removing the battery from the laptop & see if it will power up. If not, then you need to make sure your power adapter is providing enough power to both run the laptop & charge the battery. A very good way to do this is to compare your laptop voltage & ampere requirements (written on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop) with the voltage & ampere ratings of the power adapter. Voltages should be the same, or the power adapter's voltage about up to 0.5 volts more than the laptop's voltage rating. Amperage of the power adapter should be at least equal to or greater than the laptop's rating. It should never be less than the laptop's rating, or else the power adapter will be providing insufficient amperes to charge the battery. Of course, the power adapter's nominal amperage might be ok, but it degraded on usage. You can verify this by testing using a good or new power adapter.
If the battery did not charge using the new power adapter, take the battery off the laptop, & using a dry tooth brush, scrub in between the fins of the battery connector on the motherboard & on the battery it self, then put the battery back into the laptop & try again.
If this still did not resolve the problem, then the battery itself could be bad. Try it on another laptop, or try a good or new battery in your laptop.
If this did not work, there might be a possibility that the charging circuitry on the laptop's motherboard is defective & needs servicing. In order to do this, the laptop needs to be disassembled & the motherboard checked for defective/burned out components in the area near the DC jack. Any defective/burned out components found should be replaced, or you might need to replace the laptop's motherboard altogether.

If you're a dumb blonde, like myself you might want to read this before you get all freaked out that your laptop took a s#*t on you.
I bought my laptop yesterday. This morning I was creating user accounts for the family when all of a sudden my screen went blank and then the system just completely shut down a second later. I thought, OMG my brand new LT, dead. ****! It couldn't possibly be a dead battery considering I plugged it in when I turned it on.
    Or could it?
Well, unbenounced to me, ither my rambunctios children, or insanely hyper pitbull ran by and unplugged it!
What a moron. All worked up over something so stupid. Derrrr!

Big problem with laptops is where you plug the power in, it snaps off the mother board with a little pressure, check to see if the pin in the laptop where the power plugs in moves , if it move this will be your problem

Toshiba satellite l300 not charging, doesnt work on the power supply

Try removing the battery completely and running it with the power supply connected. If that doesn't work, try borrowing a compatible power supply, or buy a universal one, and try with and without the battery connected.
The problem may be the power supply, in which case the battery won't charge and the laptop won't get any power.

My toshiba l300 can't even power.the led lights are not coming on.i have tasted the charger and it's working

When you connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? If not then -
The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's power socket could be faulty.
Check power adapter’s DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced.
If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard.
This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

Toshiba Satellite L300 Will not start

I have had a this few times... what happens is the Contacts on the Socket for the power supply comes away from the Motherboard. Subsequently, it will not charge, nor power on... & then the battery gets so flat that it stops it all from working... You will have to get it repaired, it is a bit of a mission. & sometimes the damage done to the Motherboard precludes repair. So get a firm "Quote" from a reputable service center/man.

When I turn on my Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 nothing happens. The power(DC) and battery indicator lights are both ON but the screen remain black and hardly any vibration to show any device booting

1. you may have a non functioning adapter and it is not charging the battery
2. You may have a defective battery that needs replacement.
3.To see if the battery is defective take it to a laptop service tech to check with a new battery and have him also check the power adapter.

I have a Toshiba L300. The battery doesnt charge. When plugged in, no power is coming into the unit so cannot use.

If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, until they won't charge up at all.
I suggest you get a quote first.

Compaq nx6325 laptop will not power up

Perhaps try taking the battery completely out of the laptop for 5-10 minutes and then replacing it and trying again. My Dell wouldn't work on battery alone but was fully charged and leaving the battery out for a while before replacing it worked for me. Also keep your eye on how much the battery charges. It may be a faulty AC adapter also. Best of luck.
