Question about LG 52SX4D 52" HDTV
i have a problem with my lg 52sx4d dlp tv. when turned on, the red light continues to flash and the white scroll lites roll for a few minutes. it then shuts off and about 5 minutes later, trys to turn itself back on and again does the same thing. please help if you know what could be causing this as i dont want to pay to replace a bulb if that is not the issue.
If the red light scrolls through, you need to replace the bulb. I replaced the my own bulb, and when I tried to turn on the tv the light kept scrolling. What was wrong? I DIDNT FULLY REASSEMBLE THE TV AFTER REPLACING THE BULB.
Make sure that all the screws are put back in and it will probably work if you have replaced the bulb.

If you have replaced the bulb (with a LG/Zenith/Phillips brand) and not the Osram or other aftermarket bulb, you probably have either a weak ballast, dirty fan, or weak fan... check the fan 1st, use a can of comressed air DO NOT BLOW INTO THE UNIT, open the bulb access door and blow the dust out...

There is a capacitor in the power supply that goes bad about every two years that that is what usually causes it!!

Same problem here. This doesn't sound very encouraging.
