The buttons on the remote control for my talk talk view box stick and do not allow me to change channels or access my recordings.

assuming it is the buttons sticking and not low battery power .. you can use a cleanser, preferably a foaming cleanser, lightly spray then hold the control with buttons facing down while you wipe off the cleanser with a clean duster, make sure you press all the buttons in whist drying with the duster, do this several times if necessary, holding the controler upside down will prevent the cleanser going under the cover.

Windows 7 solution why can't i see file types or file extensions ?

Start....Type Folder options in the search box.
Select the View Tab
Then select the options you want to view.
Uncheck the box for "Hide extensions for known file types"

Caution. Be careful when displaying protected operating files and hidden files.
They are hidden for a reason, and if you are operating from an account with administrator privileges (Not a good idea for day to day stuff) you can cause carnage by deleting or modifying some of them.

Im trying to log into my cameras and i keep getting the Digia2 "failed to create CreateSurface[m_pDDSMergeImage0]!!!" Why is this happening. I dont have this problem on my other computers. the...

I had exactly this issue and managed to resolve it by changing my monitor (i know, it sounds weird but i tried everything else).

My specific situation is that i am viewing the cameras across a Vmware View connection (essentially, fancy remote desktop). I think that the issue is somehow related to a DirectX / DirectDraw component not working correctly but i couldn't swear to it.The "fix" (i believe) cam when Windows 7 could readily identify the monitors by their model number rather than a "Generic Non-Plug & Play Monitor" like the original monitors were (I swapped out some old Dell 18" screens for sme shiny new Dell 22" ones).

Hope that helps point you in a useful direction.

Resolution
  • Update to the latest version of iTunes.
  • Update your audio drivers
    • Check to see if you have the latest audio driver updates for your computer and any installed components. Audio driver software updates often offer improved performance for your system. Read this article to learn more about updating drivers on your Windows PC.
  • Remove third-party iTunes plug-ins:
    • On Windows XP and Windows 2000, iTunes plug-ins are stored in the following location:
      C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes Plug-ins
Note: The "Application Data" folder is hidden by default. Choose Tools > Folder Options in the file browser window, then click the View tab and change the "Hidden files and folders" option to "Show hidden files and folders."
    • On Windows Vista or Windows 7, iTunes plug-ins are stored in the following location:

Note: The "AppData" folder is hidden by default. Choose Organize > Folder and Search Options in the file browser window, then click the View tab and change the "Hidden files and folders" option to "Show hidden files and folders."

Crk76vbl1 remote manual codes. I need codes

Hi,

You haven't specified which devices you need codes for, so I've provided a link where you view/download your manual containing all the codes and the programming instructions:

http://help.mtaonline.net/dtv/remotes/rca/images/Remote%20Codes.pdf

The manual will open in a new browser window. You can then print it - or save it to your desktop/documents folder for future reference by clicking on "File" in the top left corner of the browser window and choosing "Save As..." from the resulting drop-down menu. If you are unable to see the manual after clicking on the above link you may also need to download Adobe Reader:

http://get.adobe.com/reader/

Here is also a summary of the programming instructions for your remote:

Direct Entry
1. Turn on the component to be programmed.
2. Look up the brand and code number(s) for the component on the code list in this section.
3. Point the remote at the component.
4. Press and hold the component button you want to program on the remote.
5. Enter the 4-digit code from the remote control code list on the following pages. If the indicator flashes, you have either entered an invalid code or the button isn't programmable. For example, if your remote came with your DVD player, you cannot program the DVD button to control another DVD player.
6. Release the component button, and then press ON-OFF to see if the component responds to the command. If it doesn't, try pressing the component button and then ON-OFF again.

If you get no response, repeat these steps using the next code listed for your brand,
until the component responds to the remote commands.
If you try all the codes for your component brand and none work, try the automatic
code search method. If automatic code search doesn
't find the code, the remote is not
compatible with your component.
Hope this helps.

Regards,
BElectric

Jvm2070sh001 microwave problems: the top grill was broken off and removed. The unit turns on and then off after 2 secs. The cam rotates to openb the top grill, are there any other switches that complete...

The top grill problem is probably due to the grille's being broken.

There are switches associated with the grille door and if they or their actuators are damaged, it can make the grille motor want to come on (or not come on) when it should (or should not).

This exploded view diagram shows where they are.

The turning off after cooking for 2-3 seconds is a bad magnetron. See this FixYa solution even though your model number is different.

You can find links to helpful exploded view diagrams and part ordering help here.
I recommend that you bookmark that link to your favorites. You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number from the tag on the unit) for more information & help.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Unit does not respond to remote control

I had this same problem with the Onkyo TX-SR706 this evening, and finally found the solution in the "Controlling Other Components" section of the manual: Resetting the remote control did the trick. (P.S. This problem started after I spent many hours today trying to get my new Acer laptop equipped with a Hauppauge TV tuner stick to correctly display its image on my Samsung HDTV, with sound. I tried connecting the laptop via HDMI first to the Onkyo receiver and then directly to the TV, neither of which worked as it should. I assume that somehow, in all those hours of much plugging and unplugging and fiddling around, I screwed up the remote sensor -- thank goodness I eventually found the "Resetting the Remote Controller" solution a little while ago -- I was approaching the point of ripping everything apart and throwing it out the window!)

The solution is to reset your firmware.
You can get this directly from the RCA website at

http://download.rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads/OPAL_4GB_8GB_FWUtility_v1.2.8.0.exe

Or you can try to fix your problem using someone else's files for your player.
You need to set your computer to view hidden files for this--the firmware on your player uses hidden files like this. I don't have those files handy--you may try searching online forums for onther m4008a users.

Good Luck!
