Recording phone messages on my computer

Does anyone have experience in recording phone messages from an answering machine to a computer? I think I have the instructions but I don't know where to get the cord to connect my phone to my computer or what it is called.

you might try a phone store but i would just buy an answering machine that will be easier...you might try best buy if they dont have it you may have to order it
