Another option is to replace the screen yourself. I just crack my screen on my Z850 and will attempt to replace the screen myself. You can purchase a replacement screen on ebay for about $60. Checkout http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVMzSvI2G-w for video of some guy replacing the screen. Looks easy enough.
Vivitar was purchased by Sakar and they do not support anything that Vivitar used to make or carry any of the products. I suggest looking on ebay to see if anyone is auctioning it. If not, Google it for something like "Vivitar DVR 390H docking station".
But to be honest, it probably is not the docking station. I have had the same problem, as many others have had, that the connector in the camera is the issue. This camera has TONS of design flaws.
Try reinstalling your camera drivers. You need to uninstall it first while docking station is removed. Then reinstall your camera software through the cd that comes with it then try plugging it in again either on the same usb slot or a different usb slot. Then try docking the camera again if theirs any interruptions. Usually if you transfer the docking stations usb cord plug to a different usb slot, the transfer goes haywire. Try transferring to a different usb slot...
If all else fails, get a card reader for your cameras memory card, it is way faster...
Possible faulty connection between docking station and camera.
Depending on age of the camera- send it back for replacement from the seller or contact Casio.
Does this model have a removable memory card?
If so invest in a card reader - very cheap and more reliable than docking stations.
I am having a similar problem. I put mine in its dock, connected the USB cable to my computer, and pressed the USB button on the dock. The light turned green and after 30 or so seconds, the message Check Connections came up on the camera.
