    same problem

Received this as a house warming gift 2 months ago. I unplugged the recorder and TV, moved it about 5 feet, plugged it back in and now it won't work. Won't even turn on. Called tech support and they say that it is a board inside that has blown and needs to be replaced. They will not honor warranty because it was a gift and the minimum cost will be $50.00 to bring it into a repair center to look at it (not fix it mind you, that would cost more) . Moral of the story: Don't buy RCA, they don't stand by their products

Like many RCA products that use a DVD Burner, these burners are not high end ones and go out without warning and the first indication is the dreaded HELLO issue. I have tried contacting RCA and the makers of the DVD-RW drives but still I am in the dark as to any possible firmware/software updates for these devices. No fix to this date, only replacing the DVD-RW will resolve this.

Just hooked up my new Magnavox DV220MW9 DVD Player ? VCR Recorder. I was able to set the time and a vcr timer program but now I can't switch the source. It now comes on as the DVD but neither the remote...

You need to release the timer to access the VCR. Press the Timer Set button on the remote or the Stop/Eject button on the recorder. Then press the VCR button.

Please note: the scheduled recording will not run as programmed unless you press the Timer Set on the remote again. (The timer locks the VCR until the scheduled ON time.) The DVD player is controlled separately and becomes the default unit.

I hope this helps.

I have Sony RDR-VX535 and suddenly every time I press the remote it reads DVD 3 and does not perform any of the functions that I requested.

Your DVD recorder is set on DVD-3 remote option, check DVD Recorder remote lower section for DVD Mode button that has 3 options, set it on DVD-3 and recorder will start responding on your commands of remote.
