No heat from my Kenmore 80 Series dryer MODEL/STOCK NO. 66812691

I looked up your model. You can view parts HERE.
To get to the heater element you remove the back cover. It is located on the right and is held onto the heater housing by 2 screws. On the heater housing is also the safety limits. If either of them is tripped their will be no heat. If the heater element is fine and you do have a tripped limit I suggest you take steps to remedy any air flow problems you may have. I recently worked on a dryer just like yours with a heat problem and I made a video. I have several on youtube on my channel. Here is my home movie:

How to locate heating element for electric dryer The numbers you posted above are not the model number, but on this video you can see how to access the heater element. Your dryer should be the same. If you need any assistance, I will be happy to help you out. The heater elements on these dryers are fairly easy to get to and test.

Hope this helps,

No heat

The thermal fuse is located on the blower housing while the thermal cut-off is located on the heater housing. If the dryer is electric, runs but doesn't heat, the thermal fuse is not the problem; otherwise the dryer will not run because the thermal fuse is wired in series with the motor and cuts power to the motor when it fails. The problem could the heating element, high-limit thermostat, thermal cut-off, or cycling thermostat. These components can be found in the blower housing and the heater housing depending on the model of the dryer. Specify the model number of the dryer for a more specific advice.

Kenmore dryer model number 110.66912691 not heating.

Check the house electrical panel for tripped dryer-circuit breaker-pair. Push off, then on. If immediately re-trips, the dryer has a dead short circuit in it. If they hold, then retry the dryer. If it now works, ok! If not, recheck the breakers as above. If tripped again, there is a likely short in the dryer's heater assembly. The drum must be removed to access the heater.

How do I open a Kenmore Dryer to check the parts? It is not heating up. Everything else works. Model no. 96284110. Electric.

If its just a simple matter of wanting to get to your heating circuits, follow these steps:

1. UNPLUG the dryer before servicing.
2. Remove the lower kick panel under the dryer door by inserting a putty knife along the seam (about 2 inches in from each side) to depress the release clips.
3. The heating circuits are located on the right hand side under the drum.

If you need to gain full access, you will need to perform the following (in addition to removing the lower panel).

1. Remove the operator console by loosening the mounting screws in the rear.
2. With the console removed, there should be three hex screws along the dryer top panel under the console. Remove those and the panel should slide forward and off.
3. Remove the door hinge springs and hold the door shut with your hand or tape it shut with duct tape. Without the springs the door can fall open.
4. Remove the four panel screws and disconnect the door switch wiring harness and lift the front panel out of the way.
5. Kneel down and place your left shoulder against the front edge of the drum. While holding the drum in place with your shoulder, grasp the idler pulley under the drum and push to the right to release the belt from the drive motor.
6. Leave the belt wrapped around the drum and lift the entire drum out of the dryer.

This will give you unobstructed full access to the dryer interior and heating circuits. With the dryer disassembled, this is a great time to clean the entire interior from lint and lubricate the drum support rollers. I hope this helps you. Let me know if you need further assistance.
