Bad Update install.Follow this to the letter to recover it
Select System Restore and an older point - not the last one. If no points are available or the only point is way too old the perform a Startup Repair.
If you're truly unlucky and Windows was so corrupted that even this fails then you only option left is a full reinstall. If necessary use a Linux live-cd to recover your files before reinstalling.
