If the printwheel is properly installed and there isn't any debris in the carrier area there are probably broken wires in the wiring to the carrier.

Look for debris in the carrier area and spray a little WD40 on the carrier shaft.

Turn on and it has a continuous beep

Most typewriters have a "power on system test" or POST routine. Beeping means that it fails the test. With the power off, try moving the carriage all the way to the left and turn it on. Some typewriters, if the carriage is not right over the left sensor, will fail the POST. Most typewriters will check things like, "Is there a ribbon installed?" "Does the Daisy Wheel home?" and will move the carriage left to right to make sure that the sensors recognize the left and right limits. There are other checks of course, but those are the ones that are easily fixable.

Beeping sound

Usually beeps indicate an error either in operation or that the typewriter cannot complete a request or operation due to a malfunction. If the beep is continuous, you probably have a malfunction and should have it serviced.

It is most likely a bad keyboard. You can try my fix under WW1000 or contact Geo. Beyers Co. for a rebuild.

Typewriter beeps continually and first and third lights from the bottom right blink when I turn machine on. Beeping stops after 30 seconds or so, but lights continue to blink and no keys work. I changed...

Be sure the printwheel id properly installed, remove P/W & check for dirt and debris in that area. If you have air in a can try blowin out that area.

WHEN I TURN THE TYPEWRITER ON , IT STARTS BEEPING CONTINUOUSLY AND DOES'NT STOP TILL YOU TURN IT OFF AND ON A COUPLE OF TIMES

First thing to try is a little shot of WD40 on the 2 silver shafts that the carrier slides on.

When you power up what happens? What lights are lit, are thy flashing, are there beebs and how many? These are error codes and are important.

Beeping

It most likely beeping because it cannot make its resetting movement. That is,it cannot "find-out" where its left margin is. There may be something hindering the actual movement of the print carrier. Check inside the typewriter by lifting up the top cover and move the print unit by hand. It should be able to move from the left to right-hand side of the typewriter unhindered. The shaft that the print unit moves on should be clean and it may have gathered dust etc,so give it a wipe with a clean cloth (lint free) with a small drop of light oil on it.. Replace the top cover and switch on the machine
