Question about HP Compaq Presario v3000z Notebook
I am having a problem booting my system it boots to a black screen and the bios menu does not pop up.
None of these people know anything. lol@pagebor you have no clue bro. Anyhow Josh I did some research and it looks like you are going to have to get you gpu reballed. It seems to be a common problem with the v3000. Many other people have experienced the same thing. It is a really expensive procedure but you might be able to find a place that is like a specialty shop and just does that. Good Luck man

Check the beep sound
1. Long beep for RAM is Unserviceable or not properly fitted. to solve this issue remove the RAM clean conducting area properly and fit it back. ( You restart the laptop without RAM and check fro long beep or same beep sound is coming)
2. Beep frequently for three times and stop for sometime and repeats then its video card propelem. Then you have to repair centre
3. Go throgh the manual for further beep description. Or goto manufacturer's site.

The first device the bios loads is the graphics display adapter, this is so it can display the boot sequence or give you access to your bios setup screens. You must have an issue with your display adapter. You could first try attaching an external monitor, but you may have the same problem if you don't its related to the laptop mainboard communicating with your display adapter and the flat panel.
Display adapters on laptops are usually soldered onto the mainboard inside and cannot usually be removed and replaced. You would have to seek out a repair shop willing to work on your model laptop. If you are still under warranty seek service through your laptop manufacturer.

Resit your ram or try with another working ram,if the problem persits then try to boot through bootable cd
