Question about Gaggia Baby Espresso Machine

Open Question

Hi, Got a Gaggia baby class just replaced steam micro switch (broken spring in sealed unit) Checked wiring and reassembled. Steam now producing 100% but on switiching on brew cycle no water is coming from brew head. After pump has been running for a couple of seconds it starts to labour. Just like when you put a blind disc in when back flushing. This happends when heater light comes on, when the heater light goes off water begins to flow until heater light comes on again. This seems to point to a wiring issue but i have checked every thing i have done. Any help please guys and girls?

SOURCE: problem with steam

I'll take the machine if you are throwing it away:) You have a blown fuse. There are 2 fuses inside the mahine. Uplug the mahine, Pull the top of and locate both fuses. Connect a wire going from one end to the other of the fuse. This will temporarily short circuit the fuse. Now plug the machine in, and test it out. If it works, than that is obviously the bad fuse. If not, try the exact same procedure on the other fuse. My thermal fuse went out and it only set me back $1.98 to fix. Good Luck!

Remove the shower screen and clean. If shower is clean then line to head is clogged.

Hi, sounds like either you have a blocked or fauly solenoid, or micro switch or the water inlet side of the boiler is bocked. This is easy to fix. You need to be able to get to the inlet on the boiler, undo the water line and drill it out using a 3mm drill bit. Dazza

We have just bought a secondhand baby Gaggia and we cant get the steam to come out the frother. It is an orange coloured machine .

Propably the steam pipe is blocked from dry milk. You can use a thin steel wire insert it in the pipe from bottom. If you manage to open it a little bit and start having steam then by boiling water and leave the steam pipe imerse in it it will melt the remaining dirt and by open the stem valve then the dirt will spoot out. If not then the valve is blocked or broken.

Gaggia baby espresso machine-Steam button is stuck

The only thing that comes to mind is that the machine is in steam/hot water mode. Unless you replace the switch and turn off the steam light so that it sends the water to the correct location. Also you might want to remove the shower screen and make sure it is clean.

Hi.
That sounds like you have a bad steam thermostat. You can replace that your self. Its the thermostat on the top of the boiler.
The other one is on the side.
