You need to cut off the padlock off and this will destroy the padlock.

What's your problem?(other) account appeared on log-in page?


I can't ex[plain how it got there but you had best remove it.Log in as yourselfr. You should be the administrator. Open System Preferences. Locate "Users". Your name should be highlighted. Ckick on the padlock to unlock the panel. Now click on the name ":Other" and just above the padlock click on the Minus sign. You will be asked what you want to do with the account details. Select remove immediately.
After that try another restart and see what happens.

My Dell Optiplex GX270 wont allow me load an OS on it. It gives me 'low battery voltage' error and unusually slow attempting to load xp but wont


This indicates that you need to replace your the computer's CMOS battery. To open your desktop follow the instructions below:

  1. Shut down the computer through the Start menu.

  2. Ensure that your computer and attached devices are turned off. If your computer and attached devices did not automatically turn off when you shut down your computer, turn them off now.

  1. Disconnect any telephone or telecommunication lines from the computer.

    2. Hold the bottom of the computer with one hand, and then pull open the cover with the other hand.

How to reboot my computer


Either press the "Reset Button" on machine. hold down the CTRL-ALT-DEL all at once. Remove/Turn Off Power. Or if at desktop from the "START" button and click on the Padlock at bottom and choose it from there. OR press CTRL-ALT-DEL and task manager will pop up... then choose reboot from the Shutdown Tab.

How to remove battery from compaq presario 2100


Hello there,
There should also be a switch to lock or unlock the battery.
It will show a little padlock. Turn it to the symbol with the padlock open, then pull the slide release and the battery should come out.
