There is a small metal ring that holds the rubber seal around the washer door opening that came off the machine. I can not seem to get it back in place. Is this something a repair tech can fix?

Yes it can be fixed by a repair man. There's a track in the rubber seal where the ring fits into. It needs to be loosened first by turning the bolt at the joint of the ring. If you try to replace it yourself be sure that the rubber door seal is on right before putting on the ring. When it's on the ring needs to be tightened again to stop the rubber door seal coming off again. It's not a complicated job but sometimes it can be akward as you're working in a very cramped space

When moving a whirlpool washing machine (Model AWM 1000) a large thin metal ring (spring-loaded at one end) came out. Where does it go to refit it and how do I refit it? On the machine there's a groove...

It goes to the outer lip of the door opening where the groove is to secure the door gasket. It definitely serve such purpose, not for nothing.

Amana NFW7200TW washer - door seal ring has detached

The ring is a clamp that keeps the rubber part, called the bellow, attached to the front panel of the washer. To reinstall hook the edge of the bellow around the lip of the opening in the front panel (the hole through which you put your laundry). Then take the clamp and seat it in the groove of the bellow behind the lip of the front panel. The spring on the clamp should pull the bellow tight to the opening of the panel.

Rubber door seal came off along with metal ring. How do we fix it?

If you are referring to the wire hoop with a small spring, this is the front bellow clamp. The bellow is the rubber door seal. Around the perimeter of the seal where it attaches to the door frame, is a small groove in the rubber. Make sure the rubber bellow is properly seated around the door frame opening, then the wire hoop inserts into the groove in the rubber to hold the front of the bellow affixed to the door frame. Without it and the bellow will eventually come loose and the washer will leak. To reinstall, just follow these steps:

1. Make sure the bellow is firmly seated all the way around the perimeter of the door frame.

2. Begin inserting the wire hoop into the groove, starting at the twelve o' clock position.

3. Work your way around the four and eight o'clock positions. While maintaining some downward pressure to keep the hoop inserted in the groove, pull the spring apart and snap the wire hoop back in place.

A second set of hands may come in handy to hold the hoop in position to get it reseated. Make sure the wire hoop ends up at the 6 o'clock position when you are complete.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

NOTE: Overloading the washer with heavy items can contribute to premature wear on the bellow and can cause the clamps to come loose.

After my washer spends the rubber comes

Do you mean the door seal has come loose.

Disconnect the machine from the power. Open top hatch by removing two screws in the back and sliding top lid back and up to remove.

Check down from the top of the machine and feel around the door seal. Make sure there are no holes or tears in the seal. Try and refit seal. there is a metal ring around the drum and also around the front panel where the door seal joins. Make sure the are tight and fit in properly.

Let me know if I didnt understand the problem.

Good luck.

FRONT DOOR OF WASHER LEAKING

Hello. W/D here.

It's actually pretty easy to get it back on when you know the trick.

Since it has leaked on you, you may want to remove the seal off of the rim closest to the door and clean the rim and the sealing surface. The seal has a molded lip that fits on to a raised formed rim, and it gets pressed on snugly before the ring and spring are added. You can seat the seal by pressing on it all the way around with the palms of your hands.
To install the ring:
Start the ring 180 degrees from the spring, placing it in the groove behind the seal face. (You want to make sure that the seal is pressed back into place first). Work the ring on around the seal, until you get to mostly just the spring remaining. Now lever the spring over the lip and into the groove, using a small screwdriver, being careful not to damage the seal with the screwdriver.

Best regards, --W/D--

Kenmore elite washer metal band on gray seal

The retaining ring inserts into a groove in the rubber seam around the perimeter of the door where it attaches to the door frame. To reinstall, first make sure the door boot is fitting snugly around the door frame opening. Sometimes when the retaining spring comes loose, the rubber may pull away from the door frame. Beginning at the top of the door, start inserting the wire hoop back into the groove. Make sure the wire spring points towards the bottom. As you work your way around the door to the 4 and 8 o'clock positions, you will need to maintain some constant downward pressure while pulling the spring apart in order to snap it back into place with your thumbs. It would be advisable to use a second set of hands to hold the wire hoop in place while doing this as it has the tendency to want to come out of the groove.

If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Metal ring fell off

If you are talking about a small metal hoop with a spring on one end, it is the outer bellow retaining clamp. The bellow is the rubber door seal.

If this is not the spring you are talking about, please post back and elaborate a bit more on what the part looks like to see if I can assist you better. (i.e., size, dimension, where you found the part, etc.)

I hope you find this information helpful.
