The same model ThinkPad can have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless you know exactly which one is installed in your ThinkPad, you need to download all the drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver.
When you download the drivers, write down the device driver and it’s file name so you have a record of which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files are located on your hard drive.
Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP or Vista device drivers for your model computer, Use this link: -
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true
You can download the various drivers and then you click on and run the various driver files, they will then unzip and expand into a sub folder on C:\drivers Then install the various drivers from this folder (run the set-up file).

I don't understand what you mean. I have installed or attempted to install all the drivers for my laptop. Are you telling me to install sound drivers from other types. Example: I have an R60, should i install drivers from an R61, R60E etc.

When you go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB support/download site and select your model laptop you most likely see one or more drivers for an audio driver, LAN drivers etc. Lenovo and ThinkPad can have different model audio, LAN, video devices in the same model laptop and one cannot be sure that you have installed the correct one. You just have to install each one at a time until you find the driverthat works in your laptop.
You have rated my solution as NOT HELPFUL, is this justified.
Other people have found my solution clearly explained and VERY HELPFUL.

How to fix 0xC00D11BA

1) Check whether you have installed the audio driver correctly.
2)If you have a PCI sound card re-install its driver.
3) Install the latest Direct X.
4)Open WMP, go to Tools, Options, Devices and wait till the window populates. Then highlight Speakers and click the Properties button.

Where it says, "Audio Device to Use", try changing to "Default Direct Sound Device". If that is already chosen, choose your soundcard from the dropdown list.

Yes, one can use "Add/Remove Programs" or "Add New Hardware" to remove the device-drivers, and to tell Windows to stop recognizing the sound-card.

Sound driver for my intel mboard D946DZAB

1. Visit the Intel site at www.intel.com from there you should be able to download the driver for your soundcard
2. If not your driver may be archived and you will have to contact tech support or customer support to have them send you the installation disk.
3. Another solution is to purchase another soundcard and install it with new drivers for the new soundcard.
Most computers will disable the on board soundcard and direct sound to the new soundcard

My soundcard got deleted

Not a problem. If it is an onboard sound just go to www.asus.com; click on the support link, lookup your specific board model #, and select the operating system you are running. A list of all available drivers will appear. Download and install those you need. Reboot and you should be all set. Hope this helps.

Ok the problem is this......

Obviously you have a soundcard installed on your computer , but your computer does not recognize it....what you need is the "driver" for your sound card. The driver is the software that allows your computer to recognize and communicate with the hardware (your soundcard in this case).

So , what you need to do is download this: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_dtlViewDL.jsp?soid=1603902&moid=1700045&rpn=PSAD0U&BV_SessionID=@@@@0857572739.1222955529@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccfadeffmfjdegcgfkceghdgngdgmm.0&ct=DL&all_docs=false

That is the software for the soundcard , simply download it and launch the file...it will setup everything for you and give you your sound back!! If you have any trouble installing it feel free to leave a comment here and I can assist you further!

Speakers 2.0 durabrand not registering

If both sets work on one computer, but none of them work on the problem machine, then it's not the speakers that are at fault, but rather the computer you're plugging them into.

As you are getting a "No Audio Devices" message, and the speakers get their signal from your systems soundcard, the soundcard drivers may not be installed, or working properly (the USB plug, it seems, only serves to power the speakers, nothing else).

Open up Device Manager, and look for your soundcard, and/or any devices marked with a Question (?) or Exclamation (!) Mark. Install/reinstall the drivers for any of these that you see. If you don't see anything marked as such, locate your soundcard under the "Sound and Audio devices" header, and reinstall it.

(NOTE: You can get to device manager in Windows XP, by going to Start-> Run -> type in "Control", and press ENTER. From the window that pops up, make sure you're using Classic View, then go to System -> Hardware -> Device Manager.)

If you DON'T, however, see either unknown devices or your soundcard listed in Sounds and Audio Devices, reseat your soundcard in it's PCI slot or a different slot in your machine, boot up your computer, and see if it's recognized. if it isn't, or if you're using an onboard sound solution, you may have to replace your soundcard, as it's defective.

Hope this helps :~)
