Question about Panasonic CQ-C7301U CD Player

1 Answer

No sound... For the past couple of months sence i installed my panasonci CQ-C7301U, it has been working perfectly. It keeps its memory and sounds awsome. But just the other day i rode to the mall with my music on, cut the truck off, went offroading with my friend in his truck, then came back. I went to my truck to let him listen to a song, but when i cut it on, the speakers made a low click sound then nothing. No sound, static, nothing. The only thing that was working was my sub output to my amp. Like i said, all the wires and everything are the same sence i put it it and its worked for monthes, then all of a sudden, it stops working. I know its the unit cause i unpluged my door speakers and wired it to a spare speaker i had, and it maid the same low tone click sound

You have wires grounding out at the back of the unit. i suggest trying to completely rewire it and see how that works. its easy if youve never done an install so dont sweat it. email me if you have any questions.

I noticed an XM symbol on the faceplate. How do I

You will need to get the XM add-on that Panasonic makes in order to get the functionality I think you are trying to get. With an external radio, you could hook it into an Aux to get sound, but you would not have the options to change channels from the Panasonic. In order to do that, you will have to buy their add-on. I have a separate Sirius Radio, and I prefer it that way because the display is so much easier to read.

Wont play cds

Hello ly2004sxt,

You do not need a code to play CD's in a Panasonic CQ-C7301U. The player handles the standard CD format and also plays burned CD's in WMA or MP3 formats. However, burned CD's in WMA format that contain copyrighted music are not playable. In this case the display will show "PROTECTED".

Hope this helps.

How do I take out my panasonic cq-c7301u so I can attach ipod?

You are on the right track. Those "little metal things" come in handy. Ensure you have removed any necessary aftermarket plastic framing. Many times with the new deck kits, we need to insert the plastic framing. Slide the tool on the side of the deck itself, so look carefully and be sure not yank on the deck. Let me know where you are at.

If you using external amplifiers with you system;check your remote wires.
You may be using the wrong remote wire to turn you amp on.
There are two remote wires, one is for pwr ANTENNA(BLUE ONLY),this wire cut the pwr out when you insert a cd.
The other wire is the REMOTE TURN ON(BLUE/WHITE STRIPE)this is the one you need to connect to the you amp.
LET ME KNOW IF IT WORKS.

Don't keep memeory

Hi... your stereo has 2 power wires. Typically One is yellow and the other is red. Both should have power with the key on. Only one should have power with the key off.. the most common causes for what you are describing are either no constant power to the radio on one of the wires or you have the red and yelow wires switched around... -ampman
