Sounds like you have a bad sound card; if it is still under warranty call them up otherwise you will end up looking for and replacing the sound card inside the main board. If you are lucky the sound card will not be embedded on the main board.

Absolutely no picture or sound.

The best way to repair this problem is to go to the Mitsubishi website and seek technical support for your model product.Another way is to check the frequently ask questions on you model of television to see if someone else has had the problem and listed a solution. Another way is to seek help with your problem, is put the problem into google and try to find help there. The problem you are going to run into is with parts and knowledge of this product. On the Mitsubishi website try to purchase a service manual and schematic for your product. That way you can at least find part numbers and circuit layouts that will help other service people troubleshoot and repair your Television. Hope this helps you with your problem.

Mitsubishi CS-40503

Just discovered last night that my set has the same problem, the TV is also about the same age. I can't find the manual but I was wondering if it might be fuse related, just don't know where that might be. I've had blown fuses before in circuits designed to protect the speakers so I thought this might be possible. I'm currently using my DVD/VCR which uses a surround sound system, to view TV with sound so I have to use VCR tuner.

I'm going to try to connect speakers to the audio out on back of the TV to see if it can drive external speakers.

Sound card

If you are not technologically inclined or experienced it is better to take it to a repair shop. Be warned prices will vary enormously.
find out from Mitsubishi; by calling and asking if they have a sound card for that model of tv and what their price is. If there is no detachable card they will tell you so; if there is one you can ask for the price; then add on an average of 100.00 avg for labor and you wil be close to the real price of fixing the tv. On the other hand if it is not a detachable card then you are totally at the mercy of the repair man. built in cards generally need a part replaced on the board; and unless you know about digital electronics you are at their mercy.

Mitsubishis TV Problem

have a Mitsubishi TV 1993. Model CS-35301. The problem is that there is a white line that is running through a blank screen. The sound is fine just no picture. Have you heard of "Vertical Collapse?" I would love to save the TV. Hi nothing to worry just minimise brightness to avoid screen burn. "Vertical Collapse?" means one bright hor.line in the middle of screen. this problem can be solved 1 check vertical yoke connector or wire loose 2 check supply to vertical section which normally comes from EHT transformer check components in vertical section or print loose regards thanks
