This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager, and is a known defect for your particular model camera.. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free if you live in the US, Canada, and a select few other countries. If you live outside the US, contact Canon support for your country to see if they'll still honor the advisory (some still will, especially if you stress you knowledge that this is a known defect of the camera). They may also include free shipping both ways (free shipping varies with countries). This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please see this link for more info.
Now since you mentioned that you had this repaired previously, recommend first checking to see if you may be experiencing a stuck shutter with similar symptoms. See this link. If you can visually verify shutter movement to disprove a stuck shutter, then the CCD image sensor is the next likely suspect. Would recommend arguing with hyderabad to replace it again, free of charge.
Affected cameras with this problem include: A60, A70, A75, A80, A85, A95, A300, A310, S1 IS, S60, S400, S410, S500, SD100, SD110, IXUS V2/V3/300/400/430/500/II/IIs, IXY Digital 200a/300a/320/400/450/500/30/30a

I have a Cannon PowerShot S2 IS digital camera, about 5 years old. The LCD Monitor and Viewfinder both only show a black screen with some of the Dispay Icons across the top and bottom, and after a few...

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

Note that your camera will not be able to take 15 second exposures, as per the above "fix". Instead, place the camera in manual mode, turn off the flash, and take the exposures in a darkened room. This should give you a couple seconds, just enough time to open the battery door while the red and yellow lights are flashing.

Do you really mean won't take a picture, or are the pictures that it's taking black like the LCD screen? Download some of the pictures to your computer and check. If the camera's taking black pictures, see the following two links:

LENS CAP WARNING

JVC camcorder no picture on screen remove lens cap and unable to record problem is down to a faulty batch of ccd image sensors (thousands that Sony supplied) and if you phone the JVC servce centre (0845 3108000) and explain the problems you are experiencing its a good chance they will repair it free depending on model (I know because I have done just that and JVC are paying for it to be collected, repaired and returned totally free of charge, and mine was purchased in 2004. What have you got to lose the price of a phone call or about £70 to £90 to have it repaired yourself
Good luck syrups6

When taking a picture tscreen is black and half pict is black

As long as there are no markings on the camera showing that you may have abused it, the warranty will cover it. Try lightly flicking the lens (not the glass, but the sides) a few times and see if that clears it up.

Problem with lens

Hello

there are tiny plastic gears inside and may have chipped or a small piece of sand got in causing the lens to jamb. "very fragile"

one solution is to ask a camera repair shop how much a lens mechanism would be to replace. (if cost is more than 1/2 of what you paid dont bother)

another solution is to have someone sell your camera on an auction site for parts, to make some money towards another camera purchase
