Question about Sanyo DS31520 31" TV

1 Answer

Sanyo DS35590 I was told by a tv repairman that the fuse may be bad in my tv because there is no power. However, I know nothing about tv's and I do not know what a fuse would look like. Can someone tell me what to look for so I can replace it myself?

This morning when we turned on our TV there was a solid line in the
middle of our TV screen where you could see the picture. But the
picture could only be seen in that thin line across the middle

of the screen. You can also hear the TV just fine.

It would be a little glass tube with a filament in it. To locate it you will have to take the back cover of your television off, follow the power cord up to where it connects. The fuse will be located very close to the power connection, look carefully.

How to replace fuse on sanyo tv DS 24424

Actually, when a fuse blows, most of the time there is something that went bad and is causing the fuse to blow. Some TVs don't use the typical glass fuses. Instead the might use a surface mount soldered component. These components are usually labeled with the letter F for fuse. Example would be F1 or F2. They are usually found near the power cord or near the power supply. Hope this helps...

Do you have a user manual? Look for the instruction how to reset your tv. Try to plug your tv to other outlet, Chech the AC voltage if compatible to your tv. If dosnt work you need a repairman to fix it.

No nothing

I am sure it can be repair,Checking the fuse was good idea but it seems the problem might be farther ahead,if you have no indication of power(no lights,no clicks)the problem might be in the power supply, there is a 5 volts supply that has to be running because is the power to the microprocessor(brain)and when you push the power button on the remote or the set the brain knows it and send the commands to everyone else to turn on,if you have the 5 volts and the brain is working the problem might be in the horizontal circuit ,possibly a bad horizontal output transistor(shorted)if he is bad it might have taken a fuse or a safety resitor. Some fuses dont look like the average fuse, they look more like resistors. If you are familiar with tv service We can give you all the help you need to find the problem ,if you are not too familiar with servicing electronics you might want to call servicer.Let Us know if you need more information.
