If the keys are broken, they can be replaced. It is also possible that the keyboard cable is partially unplugged from motherboard. contact +919811049801

My monitor is very dark, where do I find the control for brightness

  • Press on the "Fn," or function, key. It is located in the bottom-left corner of the keyboard, typically next to the "Ctrl," or control, key. Do not depress it.

  • 2

Press on the "F8" key, which is located in the middle of the Presario's top-most row of keys. You should now be holding down the two keys simultaneously. Small illustrations of a sun and half moon often accompany the F keys allowing you to adjust screen brightness.

  • 3

Monitor the progress bar that appears on your screen as the brightness increases.

  • 4

Release the two keys once you have achieved the desired brightness.

The scroll of my touchpad is not working

Try pressing, and holding the Fn button ( should be next to ctrl on bottom left hand side of keyboard) while still holding this button press the function key that looks like a finger pointing to a square. (located at top of keyboard mine is labeled F7, yours could be a different F key but will still be on top. After doing this try using the touch pad this should work.

    Blue key activation

Ctrl+fn+right Shift. To deactivate, press Ctrl+fn+right Shift twice, meaning Ctrl+fn+right Shift then let go of Shift while still holding Ctrl and fn, then press Shift again.

Broken keyboard keys on Compaq Presario C500 laptop

yes, all laptop keyboards can be replaced. do you have the manual for the laptop? it shows you have to remove it and take it apart. or you can download the manual from their website. you can buy a used keyboard from ebay. I don't think they are thay expensive.

    Good luck

    Solution please

nearly all pc's have this feature built into them. simply look for the key labeled "PrtScreen"...(some pc's are set up to require the Shift key first.) Then open worpad program and then use keys Ctrl with "V"...this will paste your screen into the wordpad program and you can send to printer from there.
