301 Power Problem

posted by rmoq on May 13, 2008

My Dish 301 receiver won't stay powered up. When I turn the unit on, it stays on for a few seconds then automatically turns itself off. When I pull the smart card out and re-insert the card, it does the same thing. Can anyone assist me with the problem?

Thanks

you might have a grounding issue or electrical power. dish receivers need a specific amount of volts, what you can do is take an extension cord n connect it to the rcvr and take the other end of the extension cord n plug it in on another outlet in another ROOM, then see if it powers on , if it does something is wrong w/ the outlet even if u have A tv or other appliace plugged in, if it doesnt turn on then call dish network n get replacement receiver
