Question about Crown XLS 602 2-Channel Amplifier

1 Answer

My crown 602D was running fine last night then all of a sudden shut down without warning. No clipping was coming from signal and speakers and wires are fine. The rear circuit breaker was tripped so at the end of the night I disconnected the input and output cabling, reset the breaker and switched the amp back on. Nothing comes on, no fans, no lights.. nothing. Any clue on what to check inside first? Also where can I find schematics/manual for a 602D (2u style) not the 3u which readily available online?

From what I know about these and after checking the schema , I would say that a thermal fuse in the main AC transformer is open.
If this helps, please rate my help
Thanks, Scott

Why does my 1995 seadoo bombardier shut completely down while wide open

Very likely a cracked wire on the ignition-advance. As the throttle is advanced so is an advance-lever that causes the wiring attached to it to Flex, causing an intermittant loss of current to the coil/CDI.
The flywheel may have to be removed to repair/replace the wiring.

1995 jeep wrangler just stops running without warning.

A bad crank sensor will shut the jeep off suddenly, while driving down the road, then restart later and it repeats over and over until you replace it.

My Toyota Starlet is demon possessed!

Not without trying to narrow down the choices.
If it shuts off like you turned the key its probably something electrical like a relay or the coil.
But you would really need to troubleshoot it when it happens to narrow it down.

1985 ford crown vic ltd 352 200k miles been running good burns NO oil.\r\ndriving at night engine shuts down. I turn lights off, wiggle turn signal switch and it starts again. Once I was making a right...

I dont see if the turn signal light has to do any thing with the engine shutting off, make sure the IAC idle air control valve is working, air filter is good, fuel filter is good and IF your vehicle has a power steering pressure switch then that could be causing it but with 1985 Crown Vic I dout it.

How to turn off the clip light is on red it does not turn off?

You can't, the clip light is just that...the signal is being clipped/distorted and the clip light comes on to protect the amp/speakers from blowing. You need to check your signal and then cables and wiring to see where the problem lies, chances are your volume is too high and your over working your amp....(turning the volume too high when the amp doesn't put out enough power for your speakers and this distorts the signal causing it to clip)...Try turnig the amp down, should not be any higher then 1/2-3/4 of the way never max. And if that doesn't work check your signal from the radio as well. If it works fine with the volume down and doesn't clip then your amp is too small for your needs and your need to invest in a larger amp for more power...Look for RMS watt ratings at 12-14 volts not max watts at like 16-18volts (those are fictious #'s and those amps should be avoided)

I have a Denon receiver, had it for a couple years now and has worked perfectly. Last week I was watching a movie and all of a sudden my receiver shut off and it blinked a red ring of death. I let it rest...

Did you recently move any speakers around or any items near the speaker wire connections?
It sounds like you may have a speaker wire shorting which is causing the receiver to go into "auto protect" mode. Check all of the speaker wire connections on the back of the receiver and at all of the speakers to make sure the wires are not touching or close enough to possibly touch.

Crate BX 160 bass amp. Has intermittent problems and shuts down

check your speakers cables for good condition-no touching between inner wires of each other- after you confirm from good cables condition- try the speakers one by one-make good ventilation around the amp and clean it with air blower-after that if the problem still found contact near service center for help.

Amp cuts off

The amplifier is going into protection. This may be caused by problems with speakers or wiring, or there may be internal problems in the amplifier. Start by connecting a known good speaker with a few feet of wire, and see if it runs without shutting down. If so, check the wiring and speakers. If the problem continues, the amp should be serviced.
