Question about Roland Sp-606 Sampling Workstation System

2 Answers

I just bought a SP-606 and proceeded with resetting the unit to factory settings and after I pressed F3 twice the monitor showed "Data Protected". The previous owner used it primarily for hip-hop, R&B, and rap and I'm using it for electronica-synth dance music similar to Depeche Mode, OMD, Pet Shop Boys.

The music it was used for doesn't matters. Take out the CompactFlash memory card and try to format the card plug it in a card reader on your pc, and format it in FAT. After that plug it in the SP-606 and format it there .
If you get the same message on the pc then the card is in protected mode - the memory chip is near death and has locked all operations to it to allow you the opportunity to recover the files before they are lost.
This is unfixable, you need a new card. Beware, the maximum supported on your  Roland is 512 MB. If you can't find one then your only option is to buy one that is 2GB or less and create one partition on it of less than 510MB, leave the rest as free space - this works sometimes on older devices.

My Kocaso Android Tablet 4GB it loads to the android logo n stays there is there a way to reset the tablet

Hi.

If you recently had a modification on your ROM, you may be experiencing a BOOT LOOP which is common to Android Tablets. A factory reset would be the best solution to that. Here's how to do it;

Turn-off your Tablet by long-pressing your power button. To be sure it's totally shutdown, wait for at least 30 seconds before proceeding to factory reset. If your tablet's battery can be removed, it would help if you detach the battery and put it back again before proceeding.

Resetting your Tablet to factory setting erases all the data in your tablet's memory, so you have to be ready to encode all contacts again and stuff like that.

Factory Reset Proper;

1. Press VOLUME UP and POWER button at the same time without releasing until the device boots to "Recovery Mode".

2. In Recovery Mode, scroll down by pressing VOLUME DOWN until you reach the option "Swipe Data/Factory Reset" or any equivalent to Factory Reset therein.

3. Follow through the succeeding menus until the device initiates the reset.

Note: If your Device has a HOME button (usually located at the Center-bottom of the LCD), the buttons to be pressed to enter into Recovery Mode are HOME and POWER at the same time. Release only after the device shows it boots in Recovery Mode.

I hope this helps you.

If I found a garmin nuvi gps it got a locked on it how can I reset it or something

Most GPS navigation devices from Garmin has a reset function which allows user to access a Maintenance Mode screen with system information, diagnostic details or perform the reset function to restore Garmin Nuvi or other series unit to its original default factory settings.

Depending on which model of Garmin GPS unit you're using, the following routine can reset the Garmin device to original factory loaded settings, or bring up the Maintenance Mode with access to System Information and View Diagnostics screen, where users can see various logs, and of course, clear all user data (reset to factory defaults) or clear Waypoints.

In order to reset Garmin device or enter into maintenance mode, perform one of the following procedures:

Power off Garmin unit. Press on continuously the upper top left corner of screen and then power on the unit by pressing once on the Power button. You should be prompted to clear all user data, or asked if do you really want to start up in maintenance mode. Press "Yes" to reset (warning: all data will be erased and lost, so backup before proceeding) or enter maintenance mode.

Hack above works on Garmin Nuvi 660, 680 series.

Turn off Garmin device. Press down on bottom right corner of the touchscreen, and then power on the GPS unit. You should be prompted whether do you really want to erase all user data, or asked if do you really want to start up in maintenance mode. Press "Yes" to reset (warning: all data will be erased and lost, so backup before proceeding) or enter maintenance mode.

Trick above works on Garmin nuvi 200, 250, 360 750, 760 series unit. In fact, there is a video demo by user of Garmin Nuvi 360 on how to perform the hidden reset function.

Hope helps. (remember to rate and comment this answer).

We show you how to factory reset the Samsung Galaxy S to clear all data and restore its original settings

Published on Jun 3, 2010
The Samsung Galaxy S is highly customizable and you have been hard at work tweaking it to your liking, but now the fun is over and you want to return it to its factory settings again. Here, we show you how to hard reset the Samsung Galaxy S with step by step instructions.
Please note that all data will be deleted from the Samsung Galaxy S as a result of this procedure. This process does NOT delete data stored on the microSD card. We recommend backing up all of your personal data before proceeding.
First, try this:

  1. From the main home screen, tap menu
  2. Tap Settings, then Privacy
  3. Tap Factory data reset
  4. Tap Reset phone
  5. Enter your password, then tap Yes to confirm
If that doesn't work, or if your phone is frozen:
  1. Turn the power off. If your Samsung Galaxy S is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
  2. Hold the Volume Down button
  3. Press and release the Power button
  4. You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
  5. Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
  6. Press and release the Power button
  7. Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO
If you selected YES, all data including third-party applications will be deleted from the Samsung Galaxy S. Once the wipe is complete, the phone will reboot to its factory fresh state.
