The variables you have at your disposal in this calculator are
A, B,C,D,X,Y,M. All of them are accessed by pressing the [ALPHA] key before the key near which is written the name of the variable. You will notice that the markings of the symbols accessed with the [ALPHA] key are of the same color as that of the [ALPHA] key.

You will notice also that there are two = signs.
The one at the bottom right executes the command line. By pressing it you find the result of the expression just entered.

The other = sign is marked on the body of the calculator with the same color as the [ALPHA] key. It is located at the top left of the keyboard (excluding the row with SHIFT, MODE, the navigation buttons)

Example to enter X^2-2X-35=0 you proceed as follows.
Direct access physical keys are in [ ],
[ALPHA] (X) [X to power 2] [ - ] [2] [ * ][ALPHA][(X) [ - ] [3][5] [ALPHA] (=) [0]

Usually when you enter such an expression it is with the intention of solving it for X. By default X is taken to be the UNKNOWN. You will be prompted to enter the value assigned to any other letter symbol (Y, A,B,C,D).

So, if you want to use the Solve function, you enter the equation you are dealing with, and before pressing anything else, press [SHIFT] [CALC] and the calculator will ask you a question: "Solve for X?" , and you press the = sign at the bottom right.
Then you will be prompted for any other non-X letter. Once all non-X variables (if any) are given values, the calculator will return with the solution. You will see on the screen L-R= (should be zero if you are lucky).

Invalid implied multiply

An implied multiplication happens when you put two names of variables one after the other without actually entering the multiplication sign (* or cross). The calculator is interpreting this as a multiplication and is telling you it is wrong to do so. I suspect this can happen if you use a variable name made up of two or more letters without first defining the variable. If you use a variable called ax or xa without defining it before it is called, the calculator interprets that as variable a times variable x.

Multiviewer texas instruments

There is no button for the theta symbol only a common key for variables x,y,z, a,b. It is customary to use the symbol theta to represent an angle, but people may use any symbol they want because the variables are called DUMMY variables.
So if you have some calculation that involves a dummy variable called theta you can use any of the variables available on the calculator to represent it.

You referenced a variable that is not currently defined. For example, you referenced a stat variable when there is no current calculation because a list has been edited, or you referenced a variable when the variable is not valid for the current calculation, such as a after Med-Med.

What is RCL ?

If it shows up on the display, it means the calculator is standing by for input of a variable name to recall the variable's value. If you mean the key, that's the key used to recall a variable from memory.

I just got the TI-Nspire. I'd like to solve a problem with undefined variables using Negative Exponent and things like the Expanded Power Rule. The Nspire will not let me store "x" as a variable. How...

You need the TINspire CAS (Computer Algebra System) to do symbolic manipulations. The Blue TINspire (with TI 84 keyboard) can only perform numerical computations.
If you use variables, the calculator will assign the numerical value stored in the variable.

When i ask to expand an equation the calculator will give me in error saying non algerbraic variable in the problem

Clear the contents of variables. Somme variable of letter you are using contains an object incompatible with the arguments of the expand( function ; a matrix, a list, a reserved system variable.
Clear the calculator of old junk by resetting the RAM or executing the NewProb command, either from the keyboard or by pressing [Diamond][HOME][2nd][F6:CleanUp][2:NewProb][ENTER].

Here is a screan capture.

Hope it helps.

Variable of falsh application is locked, protected, or archived

One variable you created has the same name as a system variable, or a flash application variable. Variables such as theses are protected: you cannot modify them.
Use Var-Link to check the names of variables you want to create: If the name you want to use is already assigned to an App, you cannot use it.
Hope it helps.

Nope, the TI-30XA is a one variable stat calculator.

Two variable stat is done OK by TI-36X or TI-30X IIS, also comparable HP or Casios
