You have to first find the compartments for the batteries on both the mouse and keyboard. Most likely they will be on the bottom of each device and only held shut by a latch. Sometimes on mice there is a button that you will have to push in order to have the compartment open up.

How do i change the mouse battery?

Hello Dear,

Usually Cordless mouse comes with rechargable batteries, that you don't need to change so frequently, if you charge them at regular intervals with charger provied along.
However, you can change the batteries, by turning the mouse upside down. Now you see the battery compartment, just open it by pressing the lock down. Now pull down the old batteries and replace with new one. Just make sure that the new batteries are placed in the same way as the old one.

Thanks

I have a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 and i need to change the battery. I cant find any latch or button to open the mouse to put new batteries in it! I looked on the MS site and found nothi

There is actually no release button on my 5000. Between the white on-off button and the bluetooth synch button there is a finger notch. If you put your index finger in the notch (pointing toward the base of the mouse you can put your nail under the lip and the batter compartment opens right up. There is a horizontal slot in the battery cover - trying to pry that open does not work. The whole thing is well-cloaked but surprisingly easy when you figure it out!

Changing the batteries

I'll give you info on how to change batteries in two different type mouse units. Not sure what type you have.

The normal way to change batteries on a mouse is to turn it over and open the little door on the bottom The compartment holds 2 AA batteries.

Normal 0 If the mouse doesn't have a little door to open on the bottom, then try this.
Just behind the Left and Right keys where your hand rests, apply firm pressure down on the cover and slide to the rear. Some mouse manufactures have used this type of access to replace the batteries.

Hope this helps. Bud
