Question about Makita DCS6401 20 20",64cc Chainsaw 2 Cycle

Fuel is coming out of the decompretion valve when I try to start it.

Sounds like you have a carb ,flooding or breather problem

check breather to make sure tank can let air in

check carb fuel pump for holes , check for debris , check hinge pin & lever and needle for sticking , and check lever hight it should be flush with chamber floor , check metering diaphram as well all diaphrams should be soft and pliable

if in doubt rekit carb with rebuild kit , also check for blocked / restricted muffler

I have a 1996 Chevrolet V 6 4.3 engine that turns over but will not start installed new fuel pump and relay drove it for about 40 miles parked it then would not start again


Check fuel filters under the body. There should be one very close to the fuel tank.
Also, there is usually a Schrader valve (looks like a tire valve stem) on top or near the top of the engine. With the engine off, you should still find about 35-45 PSI fuel at that valve (please shield your face and try to catch what comes out in a can or bottle). If you have no or very little pressure there, go back and search for more fuel filters.

Wont stay running fuel comes out of fuel valve in front of engine of a 1997 Ford E-350


when you say fuel valve do you mean injector ? if so then yes if fuel rail cant keep a min pressure engine will stall from lack of fuel
injector should be replaced , this could be very dangerious loose fuel in engine bay could start a fire

If the timing is right and you have spark, then it could only be a fuel issue. Does it have enough fuel getting to it? Have you checked the needle and seat in the carbs for wear or debris. Try undoing the fuel bowl drain plug and let some fuel out, if nothing comes out, try turning your fuel on. If on, and it is a vacuum tap. Check that you are getting good vacuum for the fuel to come out. If it is a gravity feed, take the hose off the carb and turn tap on to see if enough fuel is running out.

I ran my 98 Pontiac Transport out of gas. I had to replace battery. I put 9 gals of gas in. I can't get van to start.


you need to get the air out of the fuel line. on the fuel line there is a valve take the cap off and push the pin down until fuel come out. when it does it will come out with some preusser. then try to start engine. if not start do it again to the valve. until no air in system.

Ford escape was running fine before but have not used in two years. When i turned it on it seems like it wants to turn on but it does not. It sounds like it is not getting fuel.


Spray a little starting fluid into the throttle body and try to see if it will start. Also, check the pressure relief valve on the fuel rail and see if any fuel comes out when you press on the schrader valve. The relief valve should have a cap on it and it looks like an air valve. The fuel should squirt out if the fuel pump is operating properly. If it dribbles out, then it's likely the fuel pump. However, after sitting for two years, it may have a clogged fuel filter or a gummed up fuel system.

Water coming out of stem valve on top of intake on 86 corvette


If it was water that came from the valve, and If you can identify the stem valve as a valve on the fuel injection rail or line, then yes , you have water in your gas, and no, it is not normal for water to come out of this valve. If the valve is , in fact, connected to the fuel injection system, it is likely the test valve where a pressure gage is hook up to test the pressure of the fuel going into the fuel injection.
Depending on just how much water is in the system, try several treatments of dry gas, or you just may have to have the fuel tank drained.

the fuel pressure if leaking could cause this the regulator is located under the intake plenum but you should smell gas .if you dont then most likely the pump is bad ,the pump will come on for 2 seconds when the key is on then go off it will not stay on with just the key on only when you crank it will it .so have your fuel pressure checked with a gauge.

When you hook the pressure test guage to shrader valve on fuel rail what it reads is what the pressure is from pump, around 60 p.s.i. all you need to do is hook up the guage and turn on key, you do not have to turn engine over, and if pump is good it will shoot up to 58 or 60 right now.
