SOURCE: Samsung RS2545SH coils freezing

Hey how's it going? I may have the info you need, but first I need you to go through a check list to see if there is a simple fix.
Check to see if there are any obstructions in the freezer drain (freezer drain located inside freezer compartment behind back panel lower right hand corner of the freezer coils) if there are obstructions or debris remove and clean with a mild dish washing detergent and water, check to see that water can drain freely. see if this helps.when the coils freeze is the ice flaky or is it frozen solid ice? if the ice is flaky it could mean that either the refridges/freezer door are left open to long "check your door gaskets or seals by closing the on a dollar bill if it pulls out easily with little to know resistance your door gaskets may need to be replaced. After you defrost the freezer coils did you notice if there was water in the condensor pan, if so good sign. (condensor pan: is the pan that collects the water that drips through the drain hole of the freezer compartment caused by the heating of the coil by the coil heater: water that enters the pan collects and is reused by the condensor fan by blowing warm air partly into the water and through the condensor coils causing them to cool.)if you still need to test your bi-metal therostat or your glass heater/ice pipe heater, you will need a multimeter and knowledge on the use of it.(IF YOU 'RE NOT NOT COMFORTABLE AROUND ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRICITY PLEASE CONTACT A QUALIFIED REPAIR SERVICE AND REMEMBER TO UNPLUG APPLIANCE BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY REPAIRS) for more info on how to test please reply,Good Luck, be safe..

In the freezer coil is a defrost heater coil, and a defrost thermostat. You have to expose the freezer coil to find them. If your local dealer can't get parts, I get mine from Repairclinic.com.

Freezer coils are freezing up and need to be defrosted evey few days with a hair dryer. It's a Kenmore model # 2539658011. What do I need to replace?

Refrigerators are sealed systems, most have no ports to recover refrigerant or perform service. The problem could be several things, the only really repairable problem could be the fan (if there is one) but most likely the problem is from either: the superheat metering device; the charge (amount of refrigerant present in the system) is low, indicating a leak; or the compressor is failing. It is probably more cost effective to replace the refrigerator rather than to repair it, especially if it is a standard residential type

Either the vents that are located on the lower right side are open too much or the temperature is too cold inside due to the thermostat not functioning properly.

Water accumulating under veg.bins. Do not have ice maker hooked up. Whirlpool ET20DKXXN10 Model Mfg. date 1992.

you have a blocked drain in the freezer.when the machine goes into defrost a heater comes on and melts any ice that built up on the evap coil, the ice melts and goes down the drain and into a pan at the bottom where the compressor and condenser coil is and evaporates from the heat, your drain is blocked so the water can't go down the drain and it has nowhere to go but down into the fridge section.unplug the machine, remove all the food out of the freezer, remove the shelf and the inside back wall of the freezer.you might have to heat up the back panel with a hair dryer to get the wall out, when you have the back wall off melt any ice with the hair dryer, now you have to clear the drain,i use a steemer to blow down the drain but if you don't have a steemer stick a screw driver into the hole and the metal on the driver will heat up and help melt the ice, when you think the ice is melted in the hole get a turkey baster or something that will blow or push anything in the drain out, then pour hot water into the hole,if the water drains down then you're done if not keep hitting it with heat and hot water and try to clear the drain.hope this helps.

Model# 18TFA00 water collecting and freezing on upper shelf and collecting under the crisper drawers

your model number didn't come up,you have to get it off of the machine,if it's a top mount freezer on top it sounds like the drain is blocked in the freezer.you can look for a tech sheet usually attached to the bottom kick plate, pop off the kick plate and the tech sheet should be tucked in the kick plate,it will tell you how to put the machine into defrost,if not unplug the machine, take everythiing out of the freezer, remove the back inside panel of the freezer and with a hair dryer melt out all the ice, you'll see the evap coil on the back wall, under it there will be a drain hole that is blocked,i use a steamer to clear out the line, this is the best way to clear the line,if you don't have a steamer you can try a turkey baster or anything that will blow through the line to clear it,melt out any ice around the hole and then stick a screw driver in the hole and heat the blade with the hair dryer and the blade will melt the ice,the lines are made of plastic so don't heat the blade with anything but the heat of the hair dryer, then try the turkey baster to blow through the line, when you think it's clear pour hot water down the hole,if it drains then you cleared it,if it doesn't keep hitting it with the hair dryer, you can open the fridge door and in the middle of the cieling and against the back wall you can heat that up with the hair dryer, the drain water travels through there to the bottom of the fridge, keep hitting it until the water drains through the line,it might be a good idea to buy a steamer, it's around 50 dollars.you can use it for alot of other things,i use it to clean my harley and the crome and tires of my car, just stick it in the drain hole, hit it with a few blasts and it will clear the line, you can buy a heater for the drain or make one with the ground wire from a piece of house wire or a cable wire, strip off the casing until you get to the copper part of the wire, cut like a 6 inch piece, stick it into the hole and rap the other end around the heater, when the heater comes on to melt off the ice off of the coil the copper wire will heat up stopping the water from freezing in the drain so it won't block up again.let me knoow hoow you make out, good luck.

You have to heat the coil in the back of the fridge. Take everything out and open up the back, then take a hair dryer and heat the coil. After doing this, adjust the heat settings on the freezer.

Fridge and freezer not cold and frozen up

Can you remove the back panel inside the freezer and defrost the coils. Use a shop vac with the hose in the blow position instead of the vacuum position. And blow on the coils to defrost quickly. Hair dryers work also but prolonged use will burn up hair dryers. Now turn back on and see if the inside the freezer fan works. It should be running to keep the coils from freezing up. Also could be defrost timer. But this will be enough to get you going. Let me know how it goes. ken
