Your Speaker is burnt out just found that out with mine today. Took it to Sprint store Tech & they replaced it with a brand new speaker free of chg because I have insurance otherwise you'll be charged about $40
this is currently a known issue with the device it will be fixed with the realese of 2.1 in a few weeks, a work around is to go to sprint.com/picturemail then log in and veiw and or save or download your pictures from there untill the official fix comes out
You are very vague with your problems, but I would suggest going to a Sprint store to have them help you setup your new phone. They can step you through starting up, getting your accounts configured, etc.
this is a known issue right now with picture mail, as a work around you can go to sprint.com/picturemail then log in with your username and password and see pics and download them from there. it will be fixed with the next software release 2.1 in a few weeks
go to "market" download "audio manager" or"volume control" apps, they will give you a shortcut on the screeen and you can change volume for lots of stuff(ex:system vol,ringer vol, notif vol, media vol, alarm vol, in-call vol, etc.) good luck
