Hi! I have an Abit IN9 32X-MAX. But, recently when I turn the power on it doesn't show anything in the display but it just displays the postcode 9.0. on its board. I tried reassembling the peripherals; however, my problem didn't solve. i would be thankful if someone help me with this.

SOURCE: My pc works only when I reset CMOS

Hi, Some of your BIOS settings are not 100% acceptable/compatible with your current setup. I would suggest that you set everything to default, save and close/restart. Another thing you can check is if the Lithium battery needs replacement. Normally it should read 3.0Volts. If the above does not solve your problem, you can consider other things: 1. BIOS update by flashing; 2. Processor to motherboard compatibility - try underclocking your processor by lowering its FSB; and/or 3. Memory to motherboard compatibility - try increasing your latency Good luck and hope this be of some help/idea to you. Post back how things went or should you need further information. kind regards.

SOURCE: Abit IS7-E2 monitor wont display anything

is this a brand new motherboard?
do you have onboard graphics or a card?
without testing i couldnt say for sure but it sounds like you are not getting power to your graphics on motherboard.
this is usally a common issue for asus motherboards. not easy to fix.
if your motherboard is new i suggest a replacement from the seller.

SOURCE: boots 3 or 4 sec

There is an error somwhere in your assembling of the components & the system is protecting itself by shutting down. Re-check everything especially the memory cards. Make certain they are well seated in their slots and the clips are fully into position. make sure the cooling pipes are not pushing the cards out of position. Check all Mother board connections to see if they are fitted properly too.

Hi I am working on a abit A 17 mother board it was taken apart by my nephew. I think I have every thing back togather, but when I turn it on it beeps and shows code 92,well I think thats what the l e d box...

Hi, you can download a manual here:

http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=AI7&fMTYPE=Socket 478&pPRODINFO=Manual

The fault could be the cpu, wrong type of ram, a faulty ram module
or a fault in the mainboard.
Check all the settings in the manual and the bios aswell.

Here is a list of beep codes:
Basic Beep Codes for ABIT AWARD BIOS Motherboards

  1. No beep at all - this means your motherboard is dead, either due to a defective or underpowered power supply, poorly seated CPU or RAM, or a dead-on-arrival board
  2. One beep - board is working fine
  3. One long beep then machine shuts down - faulty, improperly installed or missing CPU
  4. 1 short(Beep) System booting is normally
  5. 2 short(Beep) CMOS setting error
  6. 1 long - 1 short(Beep) DRAM ERROR
  7. 1 long - 2 short(Beep) Display card or monitor connected error
  8. 1 long - 3 short(Beep) Keyboard Error
  9. 1 long - 9 short(Beep) ROM Error
  10. Long(Beep) continuous DRAM isn't inserted correctly
  11. Short(Beep) continuous POWER supply has a problem
  12. A two-tone siren, generally caused by overheating or out of specification voltages
  13. Four beeps then machine shuts down. This is because this version of the BIOS will shut down your machine if no fan tachometer signal is detected on the fan header. Make sure you attach a fan to the FAN1 or FAN4 header or clear CMOS to reset to default (no checking).

Recently built a PC Power is On with No Display

Well depending on your bios version, it could be an array of things.

First try removing the video card and re-seating it.

Then re-seat the RAM.

If the problem persists re-seat the CPU.

Let us know the exact model of your motherboard so we can better troubleshoot your problem.

When you turn on your computer the system does a POST (Power On Self Test). If the POST sees an eror it will tell the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) and the BIOS will beep a code or display a code that indicated the problem.

Different motherboards contain different BIOS versions. BIOSes use different beep codes for problems depending on the manufacturer.

When it hits 9E it has shutdown and reads 9F when totally powered off.
I have read on other newsgroups that the power supply might be at fault

I took this from an overclocking forum, I hope it helps

DESKTOP COMPUTER TURN ON PROBLEM

In this case it is normally a voltage regulator near the cpu that is shorted and will need to be replaced.
Remove everything from the board, except the heat sink fan and plug in the big power connector, do not connect the 4 pin connector. Turn the power on as you were before.
Using a multimeter, check the voltages on those regulators. You should find them running in pairs normally, but make sure to check all of them and try to pick the odd one out.
Put your black lead to ground, and use some electrical tape to cover all of the red leads probe except for 2mm at the tip to help prevent shorting out anything else while you are there.
