Question about Electrolux Lux 5500 Canister Vacuum
Due largely to the electrical wiring, vacuum hoses are very difficulty to repair. If the hose is flattened/damaged, the wiring may have been damaged and construes a shock hazard at the least. Trying to repair the hose increases the possibility of wiring damage.
However, you can try getting a lenth of PVC or similar pipe that is a slightly smaller diameter than the hose. Insert one end into the canister end of hose and gently push it to the flattened area. Slowly and gently use it to work the flattened area out.
I don't know if this will work, but it's worth a try. If it doesn't, a new hose is needed.
