Hi. This could be a problem with the blown fuse in you power adapter.

Fuse for the power brick
open the panel on the AC adapter box in the power cord; since the screws are proprietary, you will need to creatively use existing tools to turn the screws. check the 3A fuse in that box; if it looks blown, then replace it.

Wii plugged 220

Best case scenario, you fried your power adapter and just need a new one. Mild case scenario, you killed the power input fuse on the Wii's mainboard and the fuse will need to be replaced by a technician. Worst case scenario, the fuse didn't blow fast enough and your Wii's mainboard is now fried, requiring complete replacement.

You're going to have to take it to a technician for an analysis before anything else though, so you might as well start there.

My Wii console will not turn on. It's has power to it as the TV works fine. is there an internal fuse or master reset switch inside that can be replaced? I've tried plugging into another outlet also with...

No Master reset. There is a reset button on the wii but his only works if your wii turn on.
But there is a fuse and I think the fuse is the problem if you think your power supply is good

Buy a tri-crew drive ship on ebay $2
fix it by your self because you have no warranty (it is 6 years old)
open it up then replace the fuse
here is where the fuse should be http://i47.tinypic.com/2lbko7b.png

This will also help to open up the wii http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repair/Repairing-Nintendo-Wii-Drive-Board-Fuses/4029/1

Make sure to order the fuse with the screw driver too. It should cost you less than $10
If you don't want to replace the fuse, just use wire and solder the two solder pads for the fuse but this method is bad.

Please rate if this helped you.

The game system has no power, the red LED and Blue LED don't illuminate on the front of the console. A game is stuck inside. (Wii console)

My wii will not work the wires are plugged in but the light is not on it was working fine yesterday but it wont work now please help

Try your wii power supply in your friends' house. If your power supply didn't work on your friends wii, Buy new power supply. If it worked on your friend's wii then your wii is dead. Call Nintendo to take care of it. If you dont have a warranty, do it yourself. Take out the motherboard and google Wii FUSE. Chage the fuse. If you don't have the fuse, use soldering iron and join the palce you place the fuse together. If that didn't work again, Replace the wii motherboard. Trust me your wii will work this time and your MII you created will still be there because they are all on your harddrive not wii motherboard.

MY SISTER HAS THIS WII AND SHE JUST CALLED ME AND I EXPLAINED TO HER TO GET ON THIS SITE... WHAT SHE WANTED TO KNOW WAS IF HER WII WAS ACTUALLY BURNT OUT, WHERE DOES SHE PURCHASE THE NEW FUSE?

The fuses are VERY difficult to replace even if you have the part. you will need to be very comfortable working with electronics and very good at soldering to replace the tiny surface mount fuses. If you have someone with the skill here is a guide:

fuses can be obtained here:

Wii console will not come on. There was a storm the other night and power went out but the wii was not on. Only plugged in.

Hi,

Thanks for using FixYa!

Its possible that your Wii just shorted. You need to open up the console and check the fuse. Usually, the fuse is the only thing that gets damaged during shorting. If you do not are unsure how to open up your Wii, Just bring it to a local technician and have the fuse replaced. I hope this helps.

Have a nice day.
