Hello Just clean its laser pickup lens, by inserting a lens cleaning disc in to, and play it at least two times. If it doesn't help you, the laser pickup unit should be replaced. The lens cleaning disc can be bought from most of the electronic sparepart selling shops at your town, and won't cost more.
Buy a lens cleaner made by TDK or others. If you can see the picture from the lens cleaner disk The lens is clean but your semiconductor chipset can not read the dvd reflections because it overheated. Use it more often with the lens cleaner, the chipset damaged by humidity may dry up and work perfectly again.

Run a DVD disc cleaner through it and see if that helps. If not then open it up and manually clean the laser pickup lens. Then give it a go. If that didn't help, then open it back up and replace the optical drive.
Is the surface or your disk smudged or damaged? If not, try a lens cleaner CD or kit and see if the problem goes away. If they are DVD Rs or something similar(DVD-RAM, DVD+R, ETC) the player may not be able to play that particular format, and you should double check the instruction manual to see what types of disks can be read.
Coulkd be a dirty lens or the laser pickup is not focusing on the disc as the turntable that holds the disc could be broken or moved. Try to clean the lens with a lens cleaner and make sure nothing got in or fell in to the unit. Good Luck
