Is this a commercial freezer? If so, it might be because you don't have proper ventilation for it. Commercial units put off a lot more heat than residential units. Turning the thermostat up to 86 degrees will make it even more difficult for this unit to not overheat.

I have a small magic chef freezer that opens from the top. I has about 3 or 4 cu. ft. of freezer space. Lately a buzzer has been going off every 15 or 20 minutes. It buzzes for about 5-10 seconds and then...

With the time as the compressor gets old the buzzing will increased, its not a bid deal, just set the thermostat to 1 during the winter, saves you energy and give the compressor more time to rest.

Freezer is around 3 years old. When set at -17 degrees the freezer clicks very noisely, a relay operating I think. When the fast freeze button is pressed this clicking stops but the display reads -27...

In my opinion, since your going for the fast freeze mode, your freezer sets to its lowest operating temperature to fast tract the freezing process.

and about the noisy clicking sound it is probably a thermostat or relays depending on your system which starts and stop the compressor.

i think your freezer is just doing fine.

Freezer thermostat was set at 0 degrees unit went down to -30 degrees. I increased temp on thermostat 3 degrees 3 times each over a 3 day period. The thermostat is not responding. I have the thermostat set...

I would start there. If the thermostat has an off setting, turn it there and see if it goes off. If not, try turning it to it's warmest setting while the box is cold to see if it turns off. To test to see if the relay/ contactor is stuck/bad, kill power to the unit (Unplug or turn off breaker). Disconnect one wire to the thermostat. Restore power. If unit runs, bad relay/contactor. If unit does not run, I'd replace the thermostat. Make sure the sensing bulb of the thermostat is in the conditioned space of the box or in the return air (intake) side of the evap so it can sense the box temp.

I have a Frigidaire model GLFU206FWA upright freezer. The temperature control won't go above 10 degree F. This causes freezer burn on some foods after a period of time. Is there a way to regulate the...

Good day,
Manufacturers of freezers do not give the option of running the machine much above that temperature. Normal operating temperature for a freezer is about -2 to about 8 above F.
Otherwise people could accidentally set the temp too warm and cause a loss of food.
Some appliance parts houses carry universal thermostats that could possibly cover the temperature range your looking for, but 30 degrees is far to warm to preserve frozen food safely.

Freezer will not stop running -- has been on for four days straight! The freezer was empty for the previous three months and was turned off and cleaned. It is located in our kitchen, with room temperature...

The thermostat has a thick, bendy, copper or aluminium (non electric) conduction wire that goes from it, to physically connect to the internal metal casing.
When that lead becomes disconnected, the motor can just run, as the thermostat can't get a reading within the range it is designed to look for and control. It just hunts permanently for a reading.
Maybe this is not it, but see if anything came loose when you were storing the machine. If tempted to investigate areas that hold live 115V, always resist doing that and use a licenced electrician.

My freezer has gone into what seems to be a defrost cycle but is on day 4. Is this normal? It is staying at 0.2 degrees C

This freezer has a manual defrost control on it, comes this way. Also has defrost drain hose in the front with a wrap around evaporator and condenser coil. A unit should only defrost for about 45 minutes to remove any build up, 4 days indicates it is stuck in defrost. It doesn't show the cross over temp to F from C on my chart at 0.2 degrees. You should have a defrost control that you are able to put into defrost your self. Look around the back or anywhere there may be a removable panel or it should show you where to put this box into defrost since it is manual and not automatic.Give it a turn in the direction and watch to see what happens. It may go into defrost again and come back out on its own and freeze properly. If it continues to stay in defrost, you will need to replace this timer. Take all of the info and pick one up at a appliance parts house that will stock it. Draw you a diagram so you dont forget how you removed it and that will make it much easier to install. I will also send you a link about this freezer next. It will be coming to you after you get this. Keep me posted.

Ice keeps melting in the freezer side of the fridge periodically and leeking water everywhere. Temperature seems to randomly drop to the point where it melts.

Sounds like it's the defrost thermostat gone bad. It's located on the evaporator coils behind the back cover inside the freezer. It may be mishapenned or you can test it. It should show continuity with an ohm meter when it's above 35 degrees. It cuts the defrost heater off to prevent overheating.

Freezer temperature swings

the users manual does not cover this particular issue as to the temperature swing. I have seen some thermostats that are the "constant on" type that you are describing. No way of telling from the vague manual. As long as you are not storing ice cream for a long period of time, 0 degrees is usually fine for most home applications. Sorry I can not give you more info.

Freezer/Refrigerator tempurature swinging wildly

The compressor is overheating and not starting. Could be just the start relay. If this happens again try unplugging it for about an hour then it should work for a while. Heat between doors is normal this is an electric heater designed to keep the doors from sweating. You just noticed it because the refrigerator wasn't cold.
